@samurro How do you find being on Fosstodon? I tried to sign up to post about BSD and open source only see that it's invite only. Is it a decent server? Do you enjoy it?

@Amr1ta Lots of people love the nature around Van. I have never been around Seattle to compare. It's nice to know that people think here is better. I could live happily without the locals though and their callous social paranoia.
With Wayland installed, how do I get any graphics? I can't get past boot prompt login to show anything graphical like SDDM.
With SDDM enabled in rc.conf after building it from ports, SDDM does not start after system boot up. There's no error messages.
@garyhtech Have you tried the port desktop-installer?
@vespucci_editor I do not use cell service, no SIM card in phone, does that mean I can't add to Vespucci as there is no location tracking and no GPS?
OSM cannot find my current location.
@LALegault He gave himself over to damnation and the fire that can never be quenched. His torment and burning never ends, there is no relief for him.
@LALegault He sentenced himself to a burn in the flames for all eternity. The fire that consumed his body is his sentence forever.
@vespucci_editor I do not have data for phone, there's no internet. Can I use Vespucci to record where I go and then upload later when I'm on wi-fi contribute to map?
How is Plasma working on 7.5? Can 7.5 be configured to boot and autologin to a Plasma GUI desktop?
How is Plasma working on #OpenBSD latey? Is Plasma functional and boots fine? I tried 2 and a half months in -current and Plasma was nonfunctional so I've still never used it.
Would it be too much to buy a motherboard with wi-fi 7 to use in building a router? #OpenBSD
@alfonsosiciliano That looks very helpful and useful for setting up an nVidia gaming system in #FreeBSD, nice work.
In #helloSystem is it possible to do source updates and make world, make kernel? Do ports work in the exact same way?
@user8e8f87c What is your experience with how to format for code?
Linux is a bucket of parts from various people. Each individual is their own complete operating system. The #OpenBSD kernel has no connection to FreeBSD developers. The FreeBSD ports do not function and are not compatible with OpenBSD.
@changelog @adam Without a TrueNAS Core 14, I don't care about anything they do or what iXsystems releases. They are a thing of the past.
@giflian Stop worrying yourself in what other people do and be more concerned about improving yourself. You can't change how people live, you can only change yourself and fix what you do wrong.
