The Silent Cry: Mysticism and Resistance,
Chapter 8: Suffering
This workshop focuses on learning to sit with strong emotional experiences and moods in curious and respectful ways - considering their bio-psycho-spiritual *functions*
and not just their causes and triggers.
Starts Saturday - pay what you can:
Dream work requires confronting all the oppressions that lurk in the back of our brains, and are foundational to the dominant psychological, and scientific systems of modernity - any system committed to reductive, literal certainties about the function of dreams, or to their outright dismissal as “nonsense.”
Starts Wed, pay-what-you-can
No one is ever turned away due to financial hardship

Propagandists, PR firms and advertisers work very hard to manipulate your instinctive responses to archetypal images.
Dream work is healthy praxis in an era of lies and distortion.
And it keeps us connected to our personal mission in the face of collective distress.
Pay-what-you-can
What if feeling euthymic: neutral, tranquil , "fine" is not an optimal or aspirational state on a planet facing multiple global crises?
What if our strong and even unpleasant emotions have gifts to offer if we learn about the functions that they may serve and how to consider and regard them?
offered pay-what-you-can - room for three more participants:
A Gathered Meeting is a secular group model derived from structures that are commonly used in Quaker meetings
These meetings are organized to support professional and natural helpers (caretakers, activists, teachers, medical/ mental health care providers, community organizers, advocates - anyone in danger of burnout, over-extension or demoralization)
Gathered Meeting is a space to drop in, sit still and in silence together & draw on shared strengths & resources
When a system has convinced you that:
natural, spontaneous instinctive and intuitive nighttime stories about the world and each other are nonsense
dream sharing is boring
dreams are only about individual problems and not our collective circumstances
then manufactured myths gain power
room for a couple more if you are interested.
pay-what-you-can/no one will be excluded because of financial hardship:
You are invited to ninety minute public Zoom conversation on dream work, active imagination, virtual reality and creativity as a contemplative process with graphic artist and animator Elizabeth Honer
Her work will be featured at this year's Annual Dream Conference for the International Association for the Study of Dreams.
She will be guiding us through her use of virtual reality in dream work
Recording available

I’m thinking about the importance of imagination, of creativity and its relationship to our endurance, resilience, patience, our ability to negotiate periods of both personal and social challenge, economic depletion, and political terror.
Can’t go wrong with a good myth!
