Just came here to say I'm a huge believer in the message behind the song "All you need is love"
We've got some exciting things brewing, so stay tuned. Yeah, this is a vague posting. I hear it is all the rage these days 😀
Today's pondering: Once you start getting begbounties, does that mean you're site is easy to find and secure enough that the only thing to find are info-level issues, or are those engaging in begbounties so incompetent that info-level issues are the only thing they are able to find?
Our 2025 event has come to an end. We feel it was a smashing success, hopefully you all agree. Thanks to all the wonderful speakers and great participation. Special thanks to Lisa for a great keynote. Stay tuned for the 2026 event. If there is anything we can do better next time please let us know.
We are excited to see everyone on Tuesday and Wednesday. Please remember that lunch is provided both days. You should all have received an email with your tickets, which has a barcode you show when you arrive at registration. If you haven't received that email, please get in touch ASAP and we'll fix it right away.
If you've been procrastinating on purchasing your ticket, it's not too late. You can just go to https://bsidesreykjavik.com/events/ and take care of it.
We want to welcome Fraktal to the elite group of companies sponsoring our conference and therefore demonstrating their commitment to cybersecurity.
We are so grateful for their support. We could not do what we do without the generous support of companies like Fraktal, Darknet ehf, and @oruggtnet. These are genuinely the companies that care about affordably furthering cybersecurity knowledge.
Fraktal will also be hosting a happy hour in the bar area of the Salt Restaurant at the Berjaya Hotel Natura next Tuesday, March 18, at 1700. So if you're in town for the conference please stop by and say hi.
Our 2025 conference is just over a week away. If you have already purchased your ticket, thank you, and we look forward to seeing you next week. You should have received an email with your ticket, if you haven't seen it please let us know via info@bsidesreykjavik.com and we will fix it right away.
If you haven't purchased your ticket, don't despair, you still can purchase your ticket at https://bsidesreykjavik.com/events/
Our badges will go to the printer next Monday, 10 March. If we haven't gotten your order by then, your badge will be hand-made at the door when you check in. https://bsidesreykjavik.com/events/list/

There are still tickets available for our conference next month as well as the training ahead of time. Please help us promote the event so as many can attend as possible. Today is the forty-year anniversary of when a bunch of big time artist came together to record a hit single about love for the world https://open.spotify.com/track/3Z2tPWiNiIpg8UMMoowHIk?si=686bddfad0cc43d7
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/We_Are_the_World
We need more of this, lets fight the hate in the world by showing the world we love them
We love our sponsors. Both Darknet ehf and @oruggtnet have signed up as silver-level sponsors. We are beyond grateful for their support. If you want to join their ranks, check out https://bsidesreykjavik.com/sponsorship-packages/ and get in touch.
There was an issue with the payment links on our donation page https://bsidesreykjavik.com/sponsorship-packages/ that Darknet ehf brought to our attention, for which we are very grateful. This has now been fixed, and you should now be able to make donations using credit cards. Bank transfer always works, though 😊
If you run into any issues, please let us know.
Our payment process believes they have fixed the period issue with our ticketing site. Apparently, they found an issue with how our account was configured regarding Mastercard acceptance and fixed it.
It should be safe to order your tickets now, but please email info@bsidesreykjavik.com if you face any technical or financial hurdles.

As you are grabbing your tickets for our two day conference in a couple of months note that each of the workshops requires their own ticket, in addition to the conference ticket.
Also remember if you face any issues getting tickets, whether that's technical or financial, make sure to get in touch and we'll find a solution. We want everyone to be able to come and have a great time. https://bsidesreykjavik.com/events/list/
We have not been able to pin down the reason behind these unexplained payment failures in our payment systems during our testing. We've decided though to open up ticket sales to everyone. So go ahead and get your tickets, if you get any issues, please send an email to info@bsidesreykjavik.com, screenshot would be very helpful.
@malachi17RV Yes pride is in the summer, and summer is before the fall. Glad to see that even someone like you knows when pride is.
It's not a surprise that someone like you is the first to attempt to tear it down. You're exactly the type that I warn about in the article.
The thoughtful interactions will come later once folks have had a chance to digest this. Even if they don't, not a problem. I didn't write this as a rage bait, click bait or for the engagement, especially since engagement doesn't matter on here.
Of course it would be great if a lot of folks read this, but even if only a handful of thoughtful folks read it, and don't engage, it's served it's purpose. Again engagement don't matter to me.
For those anxious about getting tickets to our 2025 conference, don't despair. Tickets will be going on sale shortly. We are working out some kinks in our new ticketing system, then as soon as that is all sorted the tickets will go on sale. Remember this year is a two day event. First day is two half day training, the second day is traditional conference. Check our website for details https://bsidesreykjavik.com
@malachi17RV That's totally fair. You very accurately described the article. This is totally for those that support feminism, this is bound to anger those that support the patriachy and hate feminism, and that's just fine. That sentense was put early on and on purpose, to ward off folks like you.
I for one is proud to be called a feminist.
