@gpage yeah I haven’t spent as much time here lately.
@Pete I hope you enjoy it! Share your play if you can.

@silentdibs flipped through the Gettysburg rules and it looks fun. Light and fast I expect. Maps and counters look great too. Looking forward to playing 👍

I haven't replayed the game myself, but from what I hear starting over is somewhere in between a fresh start and new game plus - some things change or are carried over. I don't want to say more.
@evildrganymede
It's super great! And no spoiler, but after finishing you can play it again with no regrets.
All I can say is that so far is that Heaven's Vault is bloody amazing! It's got a nice style, a REALLY interesting story and some fun translation puzzles and a HUGE mystery that just keeps on unfolding. I'm really loving it so far!
It's on Steam at least, if you like indie story/"walking simulator" games then you need to get this one! #videogames #scifi
I’ve always known that my political views are far from the norm in the Spanish wargaming community (to be clear, I’m deep in the left-wing), and as far as I’ve been able to, I’ve avoided speaking about politics and closely related topics because of that. Sometimes wargames make me uncomfortable with their themes, specifically those concerning the Spanish Civil War but I’ve learnt to enjoy the games that treat the themes sensibly.
As such it angers me seeing that the “parent” company of one of the main wargame publisher in Spanish gets to start modifying a game to completely erase what their political views don’t agree with. Specifically in this case they have completely erased the Pronouns section from the character sheets in the “Stationfall” game, not because it might have been a problem with translation of anything, but as their editorial director said, “We will not contribute to this collective hysteria”.
Right wing anti-trans politics have clearly crossed frontiers and languages, and in this case they have even crossed to a place that I’d have never thought they could, the wargaming hobby. As “NAC wargames” is a section of “Másqueoca”, I can’t in good conscience ever buy any of their wargames. Even if they have some very interesting self published works and they are one of the main translators of English wargames in which I’m interested to make it more approachable to some of my non English speaking friends.
It saddens me because I had some expectation that wargaming with some Spanish translations could transcend the actual mainly right wing and old school niche where it is deeply rooted, but it seems that it’s not going to happen easily.
@gpage
Indeed, which is why I wasn't too bothered about going in cold, only to find out it's not That Kind Of Game.
Still not bothered, just signposting for follow-on attacks...
Really in the deep deep doodoo at work these days so I don't have much energy for posting, but I've gotten a few new things lately.
Thanks to pickups at GMT East I have the full set of Last Hundred Yards. Got a trial session in with Bill T and I like the way it works. Want to try armor/mortars for the fuller picture.
Spent some credit at Noble Knight and I have reacquired The Lamps are Going Out - an interesting design that I hope got a little extra polish in the second edition.
Also picked up Barbarians at the Gates - the narrative framing is rather hoary but I'm still looking for a fun playable game on this topic, maybe it will fit the bill.
Lastly the preorder for Clash of Sovereigns came in and Bill T and I floated a year of it to see what's what. Some disappointing omissions in the rules, but anyone interested in this game - you MUST read through the card decks before you play, at least the early war cards, or you will be hopelessly lost. Otherwise it is intriguing enough to give it another chance.

Good luck to all my brothers and sisters in the picket lines today!💪
JR and I are back to our old tricks, my French assailed by his Swiss pike in ARQUEBUS’ battle of Marignano. I’ve played a lot of this system and have settled my issues with it, but we’ll see how it fares in the early 16th century…
The approach to rulebook structure is another facet of innovation. It’s good to see people trying new perspectives!
@Djason609
One of the few truly innovative games of the last ten years - I hope you enjoy it!
