After playing around with liquid glass in the simulator a bit, I am pretty sure I have to try it on a device.
I guess I’ll wait until beta 2 or 3 and just go for it on all devices.

@mergesort and I thought we are supposed to just support iOS 24 🤔
Liquid Glass needs colors. This is way more beautiful 🤩 https://merveilles.town/@rezmason/114666557830815873
In general, in iOS 26 many common actions are further away, buried in menus, requiring more taps to access. For example, in the Camera app, toggling Live Photos is now buried in a menu, even though there’s plenty of space for it in the UI. #wwdc
Is it just me or is there no more API comparison tool in the developer documentation website?
Imagine the UI glass gets little cracks everytime you drop your phone.
PSA: UIDesignRequiresCompatibility
"If YES, the system runs the app using a compatibility mode for UI elements. The compatibility mode displays the app as it looks when built against previous versions of the SDKs."
If you want to play with all the other new system APIs and Foundation Models, but not opt in to Liquid Glass just yet, this is the Info plist key for you
UI constantly flipping colors to try to maintain contrast. I dunno dude. This doesn’t feel better to me :/
A bit surprised that macOS and iPadOS seem like the platforms with the most useful new features.
@caleb I think I tried every setting and didn’t manage to keep my format 😢
It has a lot of configuration options, but is pretty opinionated in some things.
I think it should either be 99% opinionated or it should be possible to just pick the rules you want to apply.
Is anyone here using swift-format?
I am currently playing around with and I like a lot of it. But a few things just drive me crazy.
Like this: I want the first, but it formats to the second. And it seems like I can’t control that behavior.
Dreams has finally made it to the App Store, and I couldn’t be happier about it! There are still a bunch of rough edges, and I noticed a bug after 1.0.0 was released, but hey. I’m super happy it’s here after 12 years. https://apps.apple.com/app/dreams-your-goals-funded/id766681978 #indiedev #iosapps #iosdev
“Nightmare bicycle” is a concept that I won’t get out of my head quickly.

Swift doesn’t need even more keywords.
But a keyword swift really needs is AnyYesReallyAny. For when you don’t care about details of the type.
View in SwiftUI should be like that.
Okay, is this thing on? 🎙️
I haven't done one of these in a while...
✨ New Blog Post
Meet - Nunch!
I'm happy I can *finally* introduce you all to Nunch - an iOS app I've been working on for the past year, and longer. This is its story...
https://www.danijelavrzan.com/posts/2025/06/meet-nunch/
If you don't want to read the post, you can check the app here: https://nunch.app
I wrote some words and made some renders on what the New Design Language of iOS, iPadOS and macOS might be. Physicality: The new age of UI. https://www.lux.camera/physicality-the-new-age-of-ui/
After the whole "I asked ChatGPT" as talk opener I've recently seen a lot of "Look, my kids are using AI to build their own games and that's beautiful" stuff in presentations.
Makes me sad that instead of wanting kids to learn how to build something they get taught to accept what the kinda-passable code generator craps out. What they learn is not how to conceptualize or build something, what they learn is that shit comes from nowhere if you just match your expectations to the output afterwards.
I just released my new Swift Package: Events 📣📦
https://github.com/ThomasCle/events
I'll be writing more about it on my blog soon! 🚀
With great pleasure I'd like to share with all you guys that, after quite some time, I have a new iOS app live on the App Store! 🥳
It's called PhotoChroma!
It extracts colors from photos and turns them into beautiful palettes! 🎨
Equipped with many features, export and share options, and lots more on the way. Perfect for devs, designers, and anyone who works with or loves colors.
Made for iPhone and iPad. Check it out here:
