Charlie Sheridan

IT Architect. Perpetually running out of time in each day. Sci-Fi/Fantasy and history books when I have the mental focus.

I enjoy games with lots of interaction that make me think. Some favorites include Pax Pamir, Brass: Lancashire, Cosmic Frog, and Age of Steam.

@farah yes. Kids rarely see the value in skills like swimming that is more obvious to an adult.

A T-shirt with writing on the front that says: "Do not go gentle into this good night. Rage, rage against the lying of the right."

@farah unexpected kid time is exhausting because it derails your own expectations for the day.

@Farsol what is on the clipping agenda? Mine was OTRII.

@mmacnair the ability to generally classify a thing can be helpful as a starting point, but anything beyond that is usually just exclusionary.

"Dragon!" the knight called, "I'm here to end your reign of terror!"

"I merely land by a town and ask if they will give me someone to eat."

"Yet when they offer a sacrifice you spurn it and instead eat the mayor."

"Yes. And if they refuse to sacrifice anyone, I leave."

"That's... Hm. Carry on."

@grayson @theboardgameschronicle ehh, seems like every publisher has stuff slip through. The bigger question is how do they respond when it happens.

It sounds like GMT has put a lot of energy into improving their denouement process of late, so hopefully that bears fruit.

Don't forget to set your clocks ahead one hour before bed tonight! The dreaded "Spring Forward" is here for Daylight Saving Time.

@farah it is great. Super customizable and focused on privacy.

@armchairdragoons soccer isn’t a penance!

@RomeDemandsStone thankfully we all have many waiting to be played and explored beyond that cursory first try… and maybe the games will be enough to distract from the insanity that will be the next for years.

2025-01-25

@mmacnair good advice. Life is far too short and unpredictable.

2025-01-22

@mmacnair any game I ask likely playing at a convention is a learning session of sorts. I am likely to have read the rules and maybe even gotten a partial game to help the understanding, but that is it.

Glad to help teach where I can though. Considering teaching Red Dust Rebellion at Buckeye Game Fest this year.

@mmacnair may this heal quickly, at least enough to ascend the stairs.

2024-12-08

@grayson I assume that should keep you busy for a bit.

2024-12-08

@grayson better to take the time that is needed. Plenty of other games to play until then.

2024-12-07

@grayson and how was it?

2024-11-13

@mmacnair thanks! Hadn’t realized registration had opened yet.

Might be worth posting games you want to play in the event planner for it and see if enough people sign up to play.

@RomeDemandsStone only if it includes dip.
