Funny interaction I saw at the dentist a couple of days ago. In reception are an elderly couple, and it seems like the husband probably has dementia. They are accompanied by a much younger man, 30ish, nerdy-looking, who seems to be supporting them at the appointment. The conversation went something like this:

Lady: So what do you do at your cafe?
Younger man: It’s just a place where people can come and hang out, you don’t have to buy anything
L: What sorts of things do you sell?
YM: Pokémon cards
L: …
L: Oh. What’s… Pokémon?
YM (somewhat impatiently): It’s been around since the, like, 90s. We sell the cards
L: …
L: What are these cards?
YM: Well you CAN play a game with them, but most people just collect them
L (none the wiser): But you don’t have to buy them?
YM: Right, because we want it to be a place that people can just come and hang out with no pressure, if you want to just, like, sit and play on your GameBoy, you can
