@crk5 if they tried that in my big tank I reckon my Jack Dempsey or firemouth would take a few toes
@PhoenixSerenity careful, that sounds rather Palavist. It's a way of saying someone isn't Iranian "they're Arab, not Persian" or "they're Indian not Persian", when most of Persia's leaders did not come from inside modern day Iran.
The argument is that Persians are Aryans and the Mullahs are Arabs. It's literally Iranian fascism, and what the Palavists are heavily into.
Novara Media did a great interview with an Iranian poet over this stuff yesterday
My daughter's school seemed unsure how to deal with international women's day until one of the staff thought "i know, we'll fire up the bbq and cook some sausages"
Yes, that's right. They literally threw a sausage party for international women's day.
Sometimes I wish I could post photos of my daughter's make up after girls' night at Cubbies.
I have no words
Happy Tones Eats An Onion Day to all those commemorate https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_Abbott_onion_video?wprov=sfti1#
Not content with banning Pride in Protest, then having them assaulted by NSW Police, Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras have now suspended two board members who are part of Pride in Protest because they have been trying to advance trans rights and corporate rejection in Mardi Gras.
It's now clear anyone who isn't gay or lesbian are not welcome at the Mardi Gras, which has been the case for years. We're now seeing it codified in the Mardi Gras' board.
Until the name changes, until the current, non-suspended, board resigns, it will always be a bigoted bootlicker parade
Uhoh:
Iraqi armed group claims responsibility for downed US aircraft
@taoish get in the bin mate. That's fully bullshit. Whether they privately had reservations or not, support was near unanimous, because that's how oppressive regimes work.
America, Israel, created this, are committing genocide on multiple fronts, and you want to pull that bullshit splitting hairs.
Fuck right off you Nazi apologist
We're at a turning point in the war right now. America and Israel have lost a good chunk of their radar systems in the Gulf, Israel's Iron Dome is only about 50% effective now, and there's no oil moving out of the Gulf.
There's no way that anyone can sustain this kind of defence indefinitely, and it's too late for a ground invasion now
Anyone have a list of technologies that we’ve banned, or never got big because of the safety risks?
I’m thinking like:
Split rim tires
Leaded gasoline
DDT (Dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane)
CFC’s (chlorofluorocarbons)
Asbestos (how was this not the first one)
@hotsoup tryptophan (but that was fairly natural), thalidomide, basically all the radioactive therapies of the late 19th/early 20th centuries, Fairey Rotodyne... that's what I can think of off the top of my head
I put together a little map of the GlobalTalk endpoints by GeoIP. It'd be a fun mission to get at least one user in South America and Africa!
I just watched a raven nearly take out a cyclist with a rather heavy and stale bread roll.
You've been warned, little ravens don't mess around
@static they are amazing little cars. With enough care I reckon one could make it to 2m
I have found more people surprised by the fact I used to own a Mini that rolled the odometer over past 1 million miles whilst I had it.
@lindsey sounds like my life before I moved into the city. I had a couple of ebikes, one being a cargo for the kids. Without it, I'd have been mostly trapped at home
