@dm in my faith tradition, we understand the act of insisting on the truth, while still trying to do your best at the human scale you occupy, is a holy act. We would call it “the prophetic”. People in power pretend like a voice that insists on the truth and won’t be dissuaded is nothing to them, but they took power on the basis of lies. Truth erodes their foundations, and they know it.

This awful thing wasn’t built overnight. We will need courage and endurance to see something better come about. The first step to that next thing is telling the truth. This is not ok.
