i am already running out of oil painting mediums OTL
my encounter strategy is choosing each route whether to 1) close my eyes and run around till I hear an encounter sound, or 2) avoid overworld encounters and get the first ! encounter that spawns. its been fun :)

@PKMNisTheBest generally, probably, but for me personally pidgey comes to mind first since i used it in every playthrough as a kid & never really used a pikachu!
i think to me, something like,
kanto: pidgey
johto: stantler
hoenn: pelipper
sinnoh: starly & shinx
unova: zorua
kalos: furfrou
alola: minior?? not sure
galar: g. zigzagoon? maybe?
paldea: too early to say what solidifies in my mind
pelipper, for some reason, is *the* iconic hoenn pokemon to me. if i think gen 3, i think "the pelipper gen." i never even used one so idk why really. i think its design encapsulates the general design trends of gen 3 really well, as well as the general ocean/land theme of the region.
anyone else have any pokemon like that for a generation?
