@repo @madeindex It doesn't have to be a hard no. Remember that it is another tool. Like ATM, email, search engines, phone service, etc.
You can run it on your own hardware for simple use without the need of purchasing new hardware. Or run some slightly more powerful onew when owning a powerful compatible commercial GPU.

There are plenty of use-cases where the use of the online powerful AI's is also well justified.
Asking people not to use it is like asking them to be hermits in this modern world.
Better to advocate for AI guardrails, legal regulations, increase awareness of local hardware options, etc.

As a 65yo, I have achieved a certain hard-earned wisdom that may have eluded you. I will share:

1) Just get up and go pee, it's not goin' away.

I'm so excited that I was finally able to set up a TTS server that actually works on a RTX 5080. Still, some workarounds were needed.
Chatterbox-TTS-Server is awesome but the parameters require lots of tweaking to get the desired outcome.

@boxofsnoo Manjaro KDE. I'm running Ollama Deepseek and WebUI locally and working fine. The problem is with any AI TTS since they use either docker or pip.

So, I try to #SelfHost AI software and :picardfacepalm:. My old AMD Graphic card is not compatible so I decided to buy a newer one #nividia for maximum compatibility. But... for AI:
The best one is prohibitedly expensive;
the second best one is not being sold new nor used;
the third best one is prohibitedly expensive and you can only find it used.
So I bough the 4ISH place best GPU (RTX 5080). Now the problem is that the software is not compatible for being too new. Couldn't make it work on Docker nor with Python pip. I guess I'll wait.
