New #blog post: What's in store for 2026?
A little bit of a look back on 2025, and looking ahead to 2026.

@jarunmb I don't think I've ever heard the audio version (the original), but I like that every version is just a little bit different, from what I understand. Audio > book > film
New set of weeknotes from Week 51...and now we're in the final week of 2025. Crazy. https://srgower.com/weeknotes/2025/2025-51/
Anna's Archive scraped all of Spotify? Sounds like they need some of these to get them out of any legal trouble that might come about https://rknight.me/shop
@petebrown I see you write about a lot of things that interest me! As I was perusing your posts one of the standouts was a new mechanical pencil...now I have to see if that's available in Canada. The last one I picked up was a Pentel Kerry, inexpensive but looks very fancy and feels like a premium instrument.
@petebrown @robb @keenan @amerpie Big if true
@darrenmorin luckily it wasn't raining when I went out!
@darrenmorin Ugh it's sideways? I'm walking down the street to pick up a few things on my lunch break, and I brought an umbrella; I guess it'll be useless.
My last Friday before Christmas & New Year's. I've got Monday off, then Dec 24 (in Canada we have Boxing Day on the 26th); then Dec 31st and Jan 2nd. It's not a straight two weeks like last year but it still beats working all possible 6 days the office is open.
@keenan Yes, exactly like that. You might get more engagement if you talk about automating the process.
(I'm definitely mocking myself here, I realize.)
@keenan You will also need to talk about switching to a new operating system, blog a little about blogging, and *maybe* talk about your note-taking system. That might move the needle.
Took the day off today and I spent most of it offline. Not on purpose or anything, it just worked out that way. Another couple of days of work and then I'm off until the 29th.
@gobino @joel It sounds like you're running into a form of gatekeeping. I just read this yesterday...it might help move past the jerks. https://sneercampaign.com/niche-interests-you-how-to-break-into-a-gatekept-hobby/
@gobino I just posted a little while back that there are pockets of reddit that are amazing. It's unfortunate that so much of it is terrible.
As I age I need to remember that there are a lot of things younger people haven't discovered yet, so I shouldn't be surprised when I see a post that looks like someone has only now discovered Far Side, a comic that's been around for 46 years.

@flamed Don't tell me that's more Robb magic ;)
As far as the iTunes library is it's portable enough, most of it is MP3 (except for the CDs I'm re-ripping - I'm using Apple's format because I use my iPod to play; easy enough to convert them if I ever want to move them). Portable in the sense that I can easily move the database where needed.

A collection of Thoughts on a Wednesday morning.

@flamed My iTunes library 100% falls into the digital hoarding category. At this point it's so bloated I'm intimidated of the idea of pruning it.
Also I have to know... "AI Training data"? I have to know more 🤣
@courtcan @nocontexttrek It's a slow burn.
