@waldoj That's my fear as well
@waldoj Great question. In related news, it looks like the state is pushing out another dashboard change, which provides mostly state level info (?)

@waldoj oops, just saw this today. if you're still looking for a home, I'm quite happy to have that bot hosted here. regardless of where you put it, i'm definitely interested in following it, too
1. Image is not mine.
2. I know there's a grocer's apostrophe - the alt text for the image notes it with [sic]
3. The incorrect apostrophe makes the whole thing better, imo
Congratulations to Gloria Tinsely Witt, the Democratic nominee for the 5th Congressional District!
And THANK YOU to Paul Riley and Gary Terry for running with honor and principle and putting a positive face on the party!

Summer is in full effect in the #uva area. If there is a restaurant you’ve been wanting to try but you’re worried about it being too crowded, do not worry, they will be happy to see you
Getting my PhD, no one told me that doing science would require sending so many emails
@Lyle it makes me so happy to see the attempted move to Virginia at great public expense was thwarted
@Lyle I can't help but wonder if that's a "system working as designed" aspect of policing and education (and other local government functions) being funded at levels determined by local property values
A huge thank you to @Lyle for the highly informative guest lecture this week on Race in Zoning and Land Use for the Race in Commerce course I co-teach with Andrea Roberts at UVA McIntire School of Commerce. Thank you, Lyle!

A Driver’s Privilege Card (DPC) gives undocumented Virginians access to a driving credential, which helps them economically and increases public safety. But the DPC expires on the person’s 2nd birthday, forcing the person to constantly return to the DMV.
General Assembly bills HB1454+SB24 extend the DPC to 7 yrs. They’re close to making it out of both chambers and likely to be sent to Gov. Youngkin. It's a big deal.
Please sign this petition to extend DPC duration:

From
@mtgillikin and me on UVA's latest plans for Fifeville.
"UVa faces a true test of its commitment to being a good neighbor as it makes development plans for its Grove Street properties in Fifeville, but early signs indicate UVa may fail that test."
Docusign just admitted that they use customer data (i.e., all those contracts, affidavits, and other confidential documents we send them) to train AI:
They state that customers "contractually consent" to such use, but good luck finding it in their Terms of Service. There also doesn't appear to be a way to withdraw consent, but I may have missed that.
The Camberville E-Bike Lending Library just crossed two years of bike loan-days since October 1st, with 4200 tracked miles on the odometers of the library bikes.
The first loan from the library was a year ago this month, but I didn't get serious about tracking loans until October. Since then, more than 144 different loans have happened... and more than 45 people bought e-bikes after borrowing one!
@Lyle had a similar experience today — it must be something in the air (perhaps literally?)
