I think and talk about networks, security, and wireless technologies a lot. Sometimes, I get paid to do it! Co-founder of The Wi-Fi Awards. I work for a systems integrator. Thoughts are my own. CWNE #366, CWISE #5, CWNT, many other vendor certs

Just some of the awesome giveaways for next week's Wireless Tech Summit Trainings in RTP. 🙌 🛜
Today is the last day to submit a nomination for The Wi-Fi Awards! Don’t miss out on your opportunity!
More importantly, don’t assume someone else will submit your favorite product, company, innovation, or content contribution.
We are often are asked “Why wasn’t [fill in the blank] nominated for an award?” My answer is always the same: “Because you didn’t nominate them!”
The Wi-Fi awards are nominated (and voted on) by the community, not the board.

@aconaway as someone who uses that phrase…I now need to seriously rethink my lexicon.
@jack_daniel Just give them a high five (to the face)! 😂
I don’t spend enough time here. I miss the community, so I guess I’m back.

@HeyEddie And ruin the anticipation? Nah. I respect you too much! 😂
We (Juniper Networks) announced a cloud native NAC service today at #MFD9. Access Assurance extends our experience-first focus into NAC. That experience includes a setup that takes minutes, and policy configuration that takes seconds.
If you're interested in hearing more, join me and a great panel for a webinar tomorrow to discuss the details.

@Raspberry_Pi Damn right, it is! PBX folks remember!😂
I brew coffee and it disappears. I brew more coffee, and it too is gone. Where is my coffee? Why is my cup empty?😩😂
One issue with @Mastodon is duplication of ‘users’ and ‘account’ by bots. Need proof? Search for XKCD on Mastodon, and you’ll see loads of both XKCD and artist accounts which are just bots or spam accounts.
We need a system to authenticate users across platforms!
Oh wait! That system already exist. That system is @keybase.
If only more people used it!
Tuesday 2/28, Wes Purvis, @subnetwork and I are continuing the #WLPC dialog with Wi-Fi 6E, WPA3 security, migrations, the real deal with MPSK, plus how to make Enhanced Open reliable. Join us with Juniper Networks live !

Is this thing on?
Let me say this loudly for the people in the back.
You cannot install an Intel AX210/211 into your old laptop and expect 6GHz to work well, ESPECIALLY NEAR THE TOP OF THE BAND!
The antenna in your laptop was not built or tuned for the 6GHz band. It definitely wasn't tuned for 7GHz.
I've seen people complain about 6GHz performance *twice* in the last 24 hours only to learn they did this and had NO understanding of the root cause.
But that didn't stop them from shouting to the masses!
I don't understand people who choose to sit in a public space with their back to the room. I totally get it if you're with someone...but when you are alone, what are you doing?
I can only assume two things:
1) They are able to shut off that part of their brain that tracks the movement of everyone and everything at all times...
OR
2) That part of their brain doesn't exists...
I am horrified at that thought...but also just a wee bit jealous.
Curious why there are #kilts at #WPLC?
