Re-arranged headings in category & added new filters. Harvard Pforzhheimer Fellowship has been granted to a grad student, Brett Donohoe, working on #SUCHO memes this summer, as well as a web archive curated for Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute. Working on explainers for different meme references. memes.sucho.org

New initiative: Memory Savers. Need equipment, know-how, and people to digitize collections. People are the biggest problem right now: lots of Ukrainian library/museum staff are in their 60's+ and it's a big leap. Got a grant to involve younger students in the work.

Program runs June-Decemberr; working with NGO Center for Digital History in Rivne, Ukraine. Will pay stipends for students and organize project. 20 participating museums for initial program, museums had lots of applications!

I've often said that #SUCHO feels like the #DigitalHumanities version of a final game boss, where you have to draw upon everything you've ever learned to make it happen.

Somehow that keeps getting more true. I now have 24 hours to make a video, which I haven't done since college but was my major hobby for a couple years then.

It's been almost two decades since I spent a whole Sunday deep into video editing, and I'd forgotten the weird feeling of being adrift once you finish the project you were working on. 🫨 Looking forward to sharing this new #SUCHO video later this week.

@storytracer Talking with "Documenting Ukraine" initiative by IWM and Lviv Center for Urban History about key question: once you have digitized something, where do you go from there? How to provide Ukrainians with low-threshold digitization platforms and training? Lviv Center will organize symposium June 1-3, collecting common problems and challenges and responding to those. #Ukraine #SUCHO

Andreas Segerberg has been working on authority records for the institutions where we captured content; have complete this for about 30%. Also planning to revisit web crawls for websites added to the Wayback Machine in 2022. Using 1-hop from start page on all resources, with the custom script that produces WACZ files. Message Andreas on Slack if you'd like to help.

@storytracer Lots of groups who need infrastructure, which #DigitalHumanities groups can support. Even if software is free, someone needs to run and support it (and that should be us). We have a duty to digitally empower others. #SUCHO #DHd2023
