chama-se IA porque só diz ya
alguém precisa de inventar um que diga "nunca ouvi uma ideia tão estúpida"
Funny how we sometimes almost resent books for not being able to finish them. That's actually their unique value. You don't just get knowledge dumped into your brain. You get to be there after chapter 5 thinking about what it all means. And you can stay with it or just leave. It's all good.
When all the wiring of the the internet was exposed, between IRC, newsgroups, FTP and the first websites, people developed a healthy suspicion for what you found online. Things weren't safe. Now they might be safer, but certainly don't have your best interests in mind.
Point being, don't let some chatbot con you into thinking you've finally found someone who really understands you.
@grumpy_website Now we can only ask questions to machines after giving our phone number first 🤔Progress?
Friendly reminder of the power in positive boycotts. This is where you go beyond withholding money/time for some bad thing. You take that and you spend it in some better alternative. This is powerful because it's more sustainable for you and it demonstrates in practice that doing better is possible.
Paying for a password manager is not really for the cost of hosting some secure vault. It's for maintaining a bunch of cross-platform apps and browser extensions that you can trust to work everywhere. Current ecosystems just break your app if you're not on top of things every year.
But if you're not using a bunch of different browsers and different operating systems, maybe you can just self-host your password manager for free. Just don't save passwords in your browser.
@foolishowl @pseudonym @mcc rsync 🤜🤛 git
People deserve to pay for a good quality "no", but they want to pay for just about any "yes".
That's the allure of replacing workers with the "Certainly!" LLMs.
@mikebroberts @sysop408 The devil has gifs and can host video.
Somewhere along the conversations on universal basics and wealth taxes, some folks saw the opportunity in being part of the problem and not a part of the solution. So they can just try to nuke all jobs, take all that value for themselves and watch what happens. Still more meaningful to addressing the status quo then rearranging seats in the titanic.
@freediverx @atpfm If there's no pressure from above to design a great user experience, it certainly doesn't come from outside the company. They're in full apple vs the world mode, hermetically sealed with few exceptions.
Did you know that there’s a premium version of Whatsapp which :
- Has no advertising
- Has no mandatory AI integration
- Has no tracking and does not gather your personnal data
- Has increased privacy and stronger encryption
- Is exclusive and allows you to chat with other premium members
Best of all ? It is currently free to join!
Go now to your app store and install it before it is too late!
It is called "Signal"
@rysiek To be fair, we lost that fight while clinging to "why you need discord when you have IRC?" and now matrix is hardly an option. Gonna take a while for another self-hosted alternative to gain momentum.
@atpfm It wouldn't surprise if the push to hide most of the interface is just an AI thing. Why cling to buttons when Siri is just going to read your mind and do the thing for you? Sit back and enjoy the view.
so
when do we rug-pull the rug-pullers?
Planting flags in AI coding territory 🚩https://world.hey.com/ricardo.tavares/planting-flags-in-ai-coding-territory-a618029f 👈 my fresh take on #AI #vibecoding and what is probably the future of software development 🛠️
@Techaltar Sorry if you can't just use Libre Office and have to cover AI computers for your audience.
Even before vibe coding, there has been great potential in having prototype code and not shipping it. Forcing it to prod and letting your users find out what's wrong is a whole other thing. If I tell you not to do that, there's always someone who will take that calculated risk. When it blows up, some customers will still appreciate your ability to maybe save the day.
But if you don't ship, now the value of vibe coding it can shine through. It unlocks personal use, learning and experimentation.
