I noticed the 8087 and 8088 almost had the same pinout, and using a pair of 74LSxx chips solder on top of it with the 8088 pins bent, I managed to run a second 8088 inserted into the 8087 socket. I had to invert its A19 pin so that it could boot to a RAM address that I could control (just below 512kB) before I released the RST pin. I had zero experience with SMP by then and figured nothing in my MS-DOS was designed to support this."
