@TheMightyCat Hello from floss.social! 😄
We are the creators of Tenacity, the sparkling new, easy-to-use, privacy-friendly, FLOSS, cross-platform audio editor and recorder based on Audacity. We also maintain libmad and libid3tag forks, which most Linux distros are adopting.
This account is managed by various contributors.
@TheMightyCat Hello from floss.social! 😄
@TenacityAudio And if you reply to this post, it should appear as a comment.
This is why the #Fediverse is so cool. Interoperability at its finest!
Some testing with Mastodon and Lemmy
It appears that if one tags a Lemmy community, you can post to it that way. The first line of the post will also be the title. This seems pretty neat!
This is really just a testing post. If this works, it works. Otherwise, it doesn't. We'll see!
P.S: Parden the notification spam if you follow us. Apparently, if your first line is the community mention, it messes up the post's title. Just a part of the experimentation process!
Turns out that we might be in your router too. If you use #FreshTomato 2024.1 or later then you'll likely have a copy of #libid3tag 0.16.3.
Yay! 😄
Welcome to the official Tenacity Lemmy Community!
So a few things about the new Lemmy community:
1. You may prefer @TenacityAudio over the URL we provided.
2. Shortly after the community was created, before we even announced it, we instantly got 50 subscribers. Did the community spread that fast? Wow! 🤯
When we made a post asking about Lemmy instances, we got so many replies for not only #Lemmy instances but also about #MBin and #PieFed! Thanks for your support!
We ultimately ended up choosing https://lemm.ee as the instance for our official community. You can join it here: https://lemm.ee/c/TenacityAudio. Please spread the word far and wide to let everyone know that we have an official place of discussion again! This has been a long time in the making and it's finally here!
@Albi At this time, there's only this account, but there was also a Twitter account that's been deleted and an inactive Reddit account. We're just trying to reach everyone whenever possible! 😄
The flip coin of making releases often is that things get broken more often too and, unfortunately, 3.2.7 had a couple of regressions, so we had to make another #wxWidgets release just a month later, which must be a new record.
See https://wxwidgets.org/news/2025/04/wxwidgets-3.2.8-released/ for more information but, in short, this is mostly just a bug fix release, with only very minor additions.
Issues have now been re-enabled!
@Codeberg Update: it looks like the situation has been resolved. We will re-enable issues momentarily.
Due to an increased inrush of spam, registrations are temporarily unavailable at Codeberg until the situation calms down. We apologize for the inconvenience.
WARNING: We are currently experiencing a flood of new issues from what appear to be AI-powered bots. A few minutes ago, they started turning nasty and racist in their issue titles.
All of @Codeberg actually appears to be affected. Please check your repositories!
(We have also informed Codeberg as well. We also want to apologize if we have pinged you all too much).
@veronica Unfortunately Tenacity cannot be offered as a web service. We are looking into experimental patches to potentially achieve that, but we haven't started looking at them currently. Maybe sometime soon we'll get them integrated, but for now, we'll have to wait and see.
Quick announcement: the fediverse hiatus is over. The phone battery situation was successfully fixed!
For further clarification: only @gperson manages this account right now. No one else does, and hence why "we" are taking a hiatus from the Fediverse (not really "we" but just me).
Also, shoutout to Motorola for partnering with iFixit to provide OEM repair guides and genuine repair parts. You got to give credit where it's due.
- @gperson
Just a head's up: we're going on a hiatus...for a short time from the Fediverse.
The reason being is because I recently discovered my phone has a swollen battery and, aside from it being an impending fire hazard, it no longer turns on. I'm currently awaiting a shipment from @iFixit for a (genuine) new battery and tools.
Other project activity might be a bit slow (especially responses), but we'll be back to normal hopefully no further than 10 business days from now.
- @gperson
Hey everyone! Just a quick update on our GitHub mirror: there should be fewer disruptions with the mirror now. That means we may start work on CI with the rebase branch soon.
Edit: and to clarify, the mirror is back up again :P
