ich suche ein Mobiltelefon.

Muss:

• anrufe
• laute klingel
• vernünftige tastensperre
• lange Akkulaufzeit
• laden per usb

Nice to have:

• laden per usb-c
• Telefonbuch / Nummern speichern
• sms
• regenfest

Derzeit habe ich ein Nokia 2720, das hat aber den unglaublichen Nachteil das man trotz Tastensperre die Lautstärke mit der äußeren Wippe ausdrehen kann. Außerdem hatte es eine unvorteilhafte Begegnung mit Öl, seitdem ist das Display kaum lesbar.

Ich brauch wirklich nicht viel, nur dass das Ding klingelt und am besten noch die Nachbarn der nächsten drei Häuser mit weckt.

Und es braucht nicht teuer sein ;)

Hat jemand ne Idee?

The new version (1.4) has a function which will silently upload your entire repo you call it on to their servers to do whatever with it – they call it telemetry, not exfiltration.
If you're on nixos stable you didn't get 1.4 yet, so you can fix your machine before it gets impacted.

My new recommendation is to uninstall devenv, delete your devenv configs, use anything else.
They are saying they will roll that change back, but the tool is burned, there's no recovering from this.

Hey DuckDuckFedi, ich suche einen deutschen Mobilfunkvertrag. Prepaid/Postpaid ist egal. Preise für Anrufe, SMS sind egal. Datenvolumen und -Preise sind egal.
Was ich brauche ist Erreichbarkeit (mit Mobilbox), möglichst günstig. Werde das so 2-4 Jahre brauchen.
Achso, Netz ist egal. Wenn ichs aussuchen kann wäre die Reihenfolge wohl Telekom, O2, Vodafone.
Bevor ich lange suche, vielleicht hat jemand direkt was im Kopf? 😊

angenommen ich hätte eine größere Fedi-Instanz, nenne wir sie mal pexelfid.de um vage zu bleiben und kein existierendes Projekt zu nennen... Die Instanz-Sotfware habe ich gepatcht um das Logging von PII zu entfernen wo immer es geht, so weit schön.

Jetzt schreibt der Pexelfid-Author auch eine mobile App dafür und hat grade push notifications über einen von ihm betriebenen Notification Server implementiert.

Es meldet sich aber nicht die App der Nutzenden mit einer URL zum Push-Server bei meiner Instanz, wie es afaik zB bei Mastodon ist, und wo ich noch mitgehen würde dass das User Intent ist wenn Nutzende mir die URL per API mitteilen (und die App ja sicherlich Consent abgefragt hat).
Sondern bei pexelfid richte ich den Push Server für meine ganze Instanz ein, und schicke fortan alle Notifications dorthin. Ich habe noch nicht nachgeschaut ob nur die Notifications der Nutzenden die auch die spezifische App nutzen, oder gar alle Notifications der ganzen Instanz.

Müsste ich dann nicht vorher Consent meiner Nutzenden einholen? Und Fall 2 dürfte gar nicht gehen, wenn alles dort hin gepusht wird, richtig?

Ich habe einen neuen, dedizierten Server für :pixelfed:.de gemietet, auf dem die Seite um einiges schneller laufen wird.
Der Umzug dorthin findet morgen ab 16:00 Uhr statt und sollte etwa zwei Stunden dauern, solange ist die Instanz nicht erreichbar.

@leah Leider nicht ohne viel Aufwand… Das ist eine Kombi aus mäßig optimiertem Code und dem Hetzner Cloud Blockstorage, der nicht so wirklich schnell ist.

dotsocial hat das afaik "gelöst" indem es einfach vertikal auf max skaliert ist, aber das ist finanziell nicht drin…

so, apparantly hosting databases on #hetzner volumes is just not a good idea. and it took me only 3 years to find out!
performance isn't good, it's not really noticeable for small workloads, but try chugging a few thousand users on there, you're gonna have a bad time. 😬

totally unrelated: :pixelfed:.de should feel snappier as of now.

Is anyone using my zknt/pixelfed docker image in a postgres installation?

I'm looking to rebase on the official php image to streamline maintenance a bit and would need support testing a few things if you're willing to run a test image for a few minutes :)

I'm moving fedi accounts around a bit.
My original masto is @tercean , I also have been happily using a single user gts instance at @cg@zknt.org for the past half year.

Because life is currently throwing some time-consuming tasks at me and gts still needs some hightened attention to run smooth I'll pause using that for a while and move to my glitch instance at @cg
I'll send follow (requests) from there out soon :)

@dansup @pixelfed slightly offtopic, but the est. date for .de is horribly wrong. how is it derived, something i can patch at my end? :)
