Someone needs to explain to me why #Amazon can publish all those A.I. generated ebooks and I can't get my #sciencefiction BDSM romance published because it's too "edgy".
Democrat/Liberal/Skeptic/Occasional Cynic/Atheist/Cat-obsessed.
After many years on Twitter I'm here because I need two places to message into the void.
Someone needs to explain to me why #Amazon can publish all those A.I. generated ebooks and I can't get my #sciencefiction BDSM romance published because it's too "edgy".
Honestly, I'm looking forward to seeing Rebel Moon. I just want something that's exciting that I'll enjoy watching more than I did that last atrocity of a Star Wars film. It's not too much to ask.
#sciencefiction
@ColoradoAuthors I like the cover art. Very old-school.
@KiffinEileen We took in an elder cat of a woman we didn't even know who was going into assisted living. We only had him a couple of years before he passed but he was such a terrific cat. I think he remember losing his previous owner and would spend his time guarding us. He also liked to get under the covers and nestle against me at night. It's been almost four years since he passed and I continue to feel heartbroken over that loss.
@markdevries At least Goodreads entertains me with terribly written reviews.
When I want to read a sizeable #sciencefiction series all I want is a list of the damned novels in publication order. That's it. I don't want charts and graphs with elbowed in novellas and shorts stories I'll never find. I don't want byzantine lists of internal chronology orders. I just want the damned novels in the damned order they were published.
@shoq Too many people want plug-n-play for everything. I mean, a toaster should be simple because all I need is toasted bread. I don't need it customized. However, my phone or browser or social media I want the way I want it. If it doesn't work for me, I don't want to use it.
@GottaLaff Any vaccine they're willing to give me I'll take. Give them all.
I'm at the final episode of Season 2 of #StarTrek Discovery and I have yet to understand what it is that people don't like about this program. I'm often at the edge of my seat. It's got emotional moments. It's got wow moments. Good cliffhangers. Is it centered around Michael Burnham? Yes. Do I care? If it makes me want to watch the next episode then the answer is that's all I care about. So far terrific show for this fan since TOS.
@nytimes So it has nothing to do with politics - just a bunch of toxic men who enjoy being violent.
@_katiesaurus_ Too many people are sitting on their hands instead of confronting these book-banning freaks. The latter are fighting a war while the opposition is tut-tutting it's way through intellectual arguments while being afraid of getting a scratch. No - there must be scratches. There's no other way to fight a war. These mutants on the right are getting away with bullying because we're letting them.
@nytimes I'm sure the NYPD having its own Section 31 will be just fine.
@lilithsaintcrow Maybe it'll seem like I'm simply being a contrarian but I think that's an opinion. A lot of people have opinions about art and what it is. If I don't care for something, I'll ignore it. If enough people ignore it then it goes bye-bye. If not, well, I guess the public doesn't hold the same opinions about the creative process as Nick Cave. So be it.
@nytimes Maybe nationwide restrictions would be a good choice and enforcement cracking down. Unfortunately, there are too many people in the US who think that the 2nd Amendment meant zero restrictions and that's not what it says.
@nytimes Maureen Dowd still dowding.
@skinnylatte So it's not that want to be paid more themselves, they simply want other people to be paid less because they can't figure out how to unionize because none of them will stick together at all.
@tzimmer_history It's not decency but misanthropy. It's sadism. Abbott and his ilk enjoy doing this.
@jdnicoll It's not Dune unless a child says, "For he ith the Kwithath Hadererach"
@jdnicoll Footnote from the Imperial Librarian: Moving forward, things happened that became increasingly incomprehensible to the reader looking for a ripping yarn.
@KristianHarstad All this nonsense going on with garbage A.I. books and still Amazon won't publish my novel, Sapphic Empress of the Asstickle Empire. That's just wrong.
