Another part of this is that it's a negotiating tactic: convince your employees "AI" can replace them and suddenly you have a way better negotiating position against labor force in your company.

Also, the low quality of the code written by these agentic tools leads to breakage, uncaught edge cases, and security issues. Combine that with self-inflicted brain-drain these tech companies are forcing onto themselves, and it's a recipe for disaster.

Of course when the inevitable data breach (lol, its going straight to Palantir or whichever other tech bro company), they'll shrug and say 'think of the children'. Which will be tone deaf and ironic in post Epstein files era. But surely they will be under same rules? Nope. Mission f-ing Accomplished, I guess.

@AndrewRadev everyuone I talked to when the dumbass AI boom started told me not to worry but I knew straight away vibe coding trash will make things crap. Seeing people I used to look up to when I was a young developer are now AI zombies. My current, thankfully non-dev, work is impacted a lot with certain vendors releasing updates that break a lot of basic functionality. What a f-ing mess :(

In my 21 1/2 years of military service I don’t recall ever running into anything like this. This is fucked up beyond all recognition.

Woke up to the good news that the Gorton & Denton by-election was won by the Greens, who stomped all over Reform UK and left Labour in third place—in a constituency where Labour hasn't lost an election since 1931.

Reform UK candidate showed his true colours, ranting about a "Woke and Muslim conspiracy", of course. (This is the guy who wants to change the law to force women to get married and have more babies, deport non-whites, and criminalize LGBT+ people, starting with the trans.)

Revived my Ender 3 and got back to Fusion, forgot how much I loved that. Now need to get my Prusa fixed :D

I used to have a decent sideline as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for technical writing. All that work disappeared because LLMs took over and I refuse to use fabrication tools, esp. not for work where accuracy matters

So, now, when I see the people running tech writing teams complain that all their SMEs use LLMs to plagiarise and fabricate, I’m not particularly sympathetic.

This is specifically a mess you were warned about but decided to make and sit in anyway. FAFO.
