@hukadan :flan_cheer:
#medicine #openbsd #games #playonbsd #clinicalinformatics... I hang out on freenode #openbsd-gaming. Thoughts and opinions are my own.
@hukadan :flan_cheer:
@justine @h3artbl33d I used to maintain the kitty port until they added Go lang (besides C and Python). Unfortunately, nobody has really stepped up to take on maintenance since then... :flan_despair:
@hukadan I miss it already. Please post updates for when you might resurrect it!
@solene I thought the AC is keeping OpenBSD cool...
@stilla I use this on my Android via ftp(1) on OpenBSD:
@pertho would read your blog :flan_guns:
@longturn Thank you for #Freeciv21 !
Good news for all #OpenBSD users: #Freeciv21 is now available as games/freeciv21 in the OpenBSD ports tree.
Kudos to @thfr for creating and maintaining the port.
Word of the day: Dunning-Krugerocracy
100.000 took to the streets in Berlin on saturday to stand up to Fascism.
This is the direct answer to the attempt to normalise Far Right forces in Germany and all across Europe.
Heads up for #OpenBSD -current users running chromium, the ENABLE_WASM behaviour changed.
WebAssembly is now enabled by default, ENABLE_WASM=0 can be set to restore the previous default (since 2019), which disabled it.

Unfortunately websites are increasing using WASM (or detecting its presence), for various security checks. Additionally, it is often required for audio/video conferencing, such as Zoom.
I'm increasingly convinced that the Musk/Ramaswamy tech-bromance agenda of massive cuts will usher in the next stage of the Gibsonian "high tech, low life" cyberpunk dystopia.
Nice! @thfr has sent a diff to #OpenBSD tech@ adding Rumble/Force Feedback (aka Haptics) to the ujoy(4) gamepad driver, along with patch enabling it in SDL2. :flan_hacker:
Be sure to test it if you #PlayOnBSD and have a compatible controller! :flan_thumbs: 🎮
@ledeuns @solene "Your message is not really kind nor helping." - seriously? I offered to provide hardware that works, at no cost to her and you are saying that?
This was a long list of grievances against OpenBSD, with the stable half sentence buried such that I didn't even catch it on my read. Many readers in the replies are already taking it as validation of their rejection of OpenBSD, while I explained why I think that is not necessarily a fair accusation, at least when it comes to reliability and hardware.
By the way I can totally understand the software issues, it's unfortunate that the options to run many programs are limited or absent...
and solene, thank you for all your contributions over the years, they are not lessened by this!
