DenFur was the nail in the coffin about how much I'm missing from friends and such.

Ideally, I'd want to the bsky bridge to work without them all having to "opt in" as well (and maybe I'll just need to standup my own version of it?).

Yesterday was my last official day at my job! I turned in my laptop and badge and I'm freeeeeeeeeee!

And I know it's official because I just got notified they canceled all my unvested restricted stock x3

Aw heck yeah! Got team Stardust for #artfight2024 ! (I had procrastinated getting setup before July when I could choose x3).

But! positives: more time and energy for other stuff! In the short term it means more art, a return to streaming, more time working on the self-hosted fedi stuff, and working on the fursuit head I started.

Long-term I'm gonna start contributing more to projects again (now I no longer need to file a copyright exemption with my employer!) and see where that takes me. Maybe contract work, maybe a new position at a different place, or maybe a secret 3rd option will present itself?

I resigned from my job yesterday, my official end-date is the start of July.

I've been thinking about this and loosely planning it for maybe a year, and when they announced they had been tracking and would be enforcing the "in office" policy, I knew I couldn't put this off anymore.

I don't have anything lined up (I have been extremely picky), but I do have enough resources to float by for a while, so why not?
