To mark the new U.K. Labour government's first 100 days, I'm going to have a look back at all the positive things they've done
No, this is not the build up to a bad joke. It's exactly what I'm going to do.

@DerryLawlor It takes a few weeks after you make it before it's ready to eat. You keep it tightly wrapped up and every few days poke it with a skewer and drizzle some more brandy or similar into it, so it gets really juicy on the inside. This time I'm using Cointreau to boost the orange a bit.
@daltobr
@daltobr I'm right with you. I only began making them a couple of years ago. this year I'm making two; one that'll be ready in early December and one that we'll keep until next year when the other one has all been eaten.
The plan today is to make Christmas cake.
This morning @perlbod confesses that he ate the last bit of the 2023 Christmas cake for a midnight snack last night.
Coincidence? I think not.
Writing this new talk for #ffconf (titled Accessibility and AI: the good, the bad, and the bollocks), would be going a lot better if I didn't keep getting distracted by interesting articles and papers quite so much.
More on ffconf here if you're curious:

@rem And for every bit of JavaScript an equal absence of accessibility.
I was asked about (my) history of the web and relationship with @w3c by @bkardell for @igalia 3 weeks ago. The filmed interview aired last night.
So many memories resurfaced! For example did you know the 1998 soccer World Cup was streamed live, in ascii, over Telnet? I watched it!
Some parts are a bit personal, but I got to share with Brian some of my favourite thoughts and hopes for #W3C.
If you watch I hope you learn something ☺️

Picard levity tip: Before lifting your teacup off a small dish, give the command, "Prepare for saucer separation."
The GOV.UK “exit this page" button (for pages that might be visited by e.g. domestic abuse victims seeking support) doesn't take you to the Google homepage but instead BBC Weather, and the reason why is interesting and well-thought-out: https://beeps.website/blog/2024-10-09-why-govuk-exit-this-page-doesnt-use-escape/#bonus%3A-why-does-it-redirect-the-user-to-bbc-weather%3F
@aardrian Having been aware of JF's situation since it began, I can vouchsafe this fund-raising initiative.
✊🏽 More power to anyone (including myself) who uses medication to help themselves cope with #Mentalhealth issues. #stigma no more
@Edent
This was a problem with a free (in-person) event I had some minimal involvement in (Open Web Camp). The solution proved to be to impose a nominal fee ($10 AIRC). It helped reduce no-shows by a significant amount, and in doing so meant that food was not ordered for people who didn't turn up etc.@marcthiele
Today we published the updated WCAG2ICT for WCAG 2.0, 2.1, and 2.2.
WCAG2ICT is Guidance on Applying Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2 to Non-Web Information and Communications Technologies (ICT).
WCAG2ICT has been a key resource for including WCAG in ICT accessibility regulation, legislation, and standards around the world. This update facilitates further adoption of WCAG 2.1 and WCAG 2.2 in non-web contexts.
