@NetNewsWire It would be a strong preference. I can read it at the current extra large size, but I'd prefer about twice as large. I may not have an optimal monitor setup, but this would help.

@NetNewsWire Have you considered making article text sizes larger than Extra Extra Large on MacOS?
@atpfm @marcoarment How long have you tried the progressive lenses? I'm 50 and starting a few years ago I needed reading glasses. I got by with cheap readers for a couple years but now I'm using progressives when I'm out of the house, and sometimes when I'm moving around the house. I need, and have, a script just for computer use - love them. Progressives are a weird compromise but with time most people subconsciously learn how to look through them for the needed use case.
@caseyliss I appreciate the project nature of your effort. I am also a fan of an out of market NFL team. I did pay for Sunday Ticket for years. But these days, as the father of two children, I don't always have the time to watch the game live. The NFL offers all games after they end for just $99 / year. That has been my solution the last 2 years. https://www.nfl.com/plus/replays/ Also, the the highlights on Youtube do show you all the interesting plays for free: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1BRas11KVZY
@atpfm @marcoarment @siracusa @caseyliss #appleunintelligence Poor summary of the fight, Siri.
@atpfm @marcoarment I believe “these AirPods” doesn’t refer solely to the “with noise cancelling” AirPods but actually refers to both AirPods 4.
@overcastfm FYI, a bug I've been seeing lately, when switching back to a podcast it resumes at a point significantly earlier than it should have. Like 10 minutes but that is a very rough guess.
@overcastfm Congrats on new release.
Is there a way to reorder the playlists?
Looks like we lost the visual indicator for empty playlists (grayed out).
Personally I organize by Playlist, so turning that side scrolling seems to be a setback for me, but I'm open to learning a new way to think about it.
Love the new Now Playing screen.
@siracusa regarding iPad pro for tv viewing, did you consider the 13”? My use case is similar to yours and I’m trying to decide between the sizes? Also you use the folio case to hold it up in bed? On your lap?
@marcoarment You got very close to my suggestion for standardized Apple conventions. Years. I prefer 2 digits but can also accept 4. iOS 23, macOS 23, etc. But also phones (iPhone 23 Pro), Macs, Watches, etc. And chips: A23, M23, H23, W23, etc. Basically like cars have model years. The only downsides I can think of are: if they have 2 releases in 1 year or if they want to obscure the age of something. But this would make it SO much easier to remember when stuff came out / how old it is.
@atpfm I've been manually charging my iPhone 14 Pro Max to only 80%, and resuming changing around 30-40% since receiving it on launch day. I go over 80% when I anticipate a heavy day but that is infrequent. Since I sit all day at a desk with charging nearby this hasn't been difficult for me. My phone is currently at 95% maximum capacity... I don't know if that's particularly good but it seems decent to me. @siracusa @marcoarment @caseyliss
@marcoarment recently I've been seeing old episodes of Heavyweight pop up. Not a major issue and even somewhat nice... today two appeared as unheard, Heavyweight Short: Cody from Oct 13, 2022 and #46 Dan from Oct 6, 2022.
@marcoarment Yes Vision Pro does use a lot of computation power to put a fake 80" screen in front of you. But doesn't a real 80" screen also use a lot of power?
@SeanCasten aligning incentives is so important for almost anything.
@siracusa I tried 70% isopropyl alcohol earlier today and it seems to have helped without damaging so far.
@siracusa Any tips for cleaning a beloved mouse that is kind of sticky now? (PC peripheral not a mammal)
@atpfm I have a bug with screen time and a few others have confirmed it. If a child grants themselves 1 more minute in three different apps the “schedule downtime” and “block at downtime” options turn themselves off. Meaning screen time is effectively completely disabled. I assume @marcoarment hasn’t seen this since he describes Adam as routinely granting 1 more minute to multiple apps and didn’t mention it.
Here is a Reddit forum discussing the issue: https://www.reddit.com/r/applehelp/comments/xwwr8t/ios_16_screen_time_scheduled_downtime_keeps/j2672fq/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3
In which #BingAI admits to making up an answer because it sounded more interesting than the truth.
The tape-tearing tiktok you didn’t know you needed:
@johnvoorhees My wife and I currently share an iCloud account. If we switch to using our own and Shared iCloud Photo Library... how similar will that be to our shared account? Does the switch in the camera app stay on so that all of our photos are shared automatically going forward (if that is our goal, to replicate old behavior)? Or do you have to turn it on with each photo taking session? Thanks in advance for the advise.
