Been doing the anarchy thing for a while!

I write books, do hackery stuff, live in the Rustbelt (born and raised!), and work on The Beautiful Idea podcast.

Hey everyone!

We just dropped this month's news roundup.

In this episode we have interviews with participants of the recent Statelessness conference and talk to @antifaintl about recent initiatives.

Of course we also have the news roundup (it is a BIG one this month) and I sit down with another member of the collective to talk about the National Guard deployment in LA, and why we need to be careful to not fall into the politics of spectacle built up around it.

"In this episode, explore what’s happening in LA during the recent ICE raids and protests, the brutal tactics ICE and the police are using—tear gas, rubber bullets, mass detentions—and how communities are fighting back. These raids are more than just law enforcement—they’re psychological warfare, and they’re happening all over the country."

The new book, Ungovernability, has been officially released! !

The text, published by Rupture Press an Active Distribution, ended up being three distinct essays, a sort of small collection.

Ungovernability is an examination of the modernist concept of revolution, that we overthrow some old order to construct a new society based on clear ideological visions of the future, and the ways that this concept fundamentally creates the conditions for its own demise, and often descent into atrocity. We then discuss ways that, when we jettison the concept of some true utopian future for some singular concept of "society", new political horizons can emerge around denying the state the ability to operate, breaking down the structures of policing, and defending these ungoverned areas, whether physical, technical, social, intellectual, etc., and why this means forming political spaces outside of the traditional Left.

Collapse: A Strategic Proposal focuses on a reading of the moment. Often in radical circles we portray the state, capitalism, name-your-object-of-derision-here, as a structure that always operates at the peak of its power. But, that is far from the situation we find ourselves in today. Whether this is massive cuts to government programs, the retreat of capital from the Rustbelt and its concentration on the coasts, or the inability of powerful nations to hold together spheres of influence, what we are seeing is a dynamic of retreat and concentration. In this retreat margins emerge, places where the former structures that governed life are no longer fully hegemonic, and in which other alternatives have to emerge, and it is in these places where we may find the new planes of engagement.

The final piece in the collection is A Call for New Lines of Conflict: Confronting the Second Trump Era, which was published earlier this year (rupturepress.org/blog/a-call-f) and discusses the use of the margins that are emerging in the early Trump era as spaces to anchor strategies of area denial, or denying state forces the ability to operate in a space.

You can find the vertical PDF of the book free for download here:

Shipments are on the way to the US from Active Distribution, and will be available through Active's page on the PM Press site: pmpress.org/index.php?l=produc

I will also be doing a limited, and irregular, series of events around the Rustbelt/Midwest as time allows. So, I might just get a chance to see you if I come to your town, looking forward to it!

Just getting around to posting about this after a very long, and very successful, May Day weekend in my town.

Happy May Day everyone!

Last week we released a discussion I had with the crew over at @subMedia about the history of their project, going back to the 1990s rave scene, the future of anarchist media, and their upcoming documentary series InterRebellium!

Hope you enjoy!

@blindbunny
OK, we finally have it fixed. I am going to be updating the RSS link on the site this evening, and that should take care of it.

Let me know if, in a few days, things do not seem to be fixed.

Hurry comrade, shoot the policeman, the judge, the boss. Now, before a new police prevent you.

Hurry to say No, before the new repression convinces you that saying no is pointless, mad, and that you should accept the hospitality of the mental asylum.

Hurry to attack capital before a new ideology makes it sacred to you.

Hurry to refuse work before some new sophist tells you yet again that ‘work makes you free’.

Hurry to play. Hurry to arm yourself

New translation up on @igd_news of a powerful collective letter responding to the discovery of an extermination camp in Teuchitlán, Jalisco:

"We have seen how the blood that runs through the country and the bones that are hidden under the earth multiply due to a violence – both state and non-state – that does not cease. Meanwhile, the criminal structures inside and outside of the State are strengthened, under the cover of a politics of silence and structural, systemic, and routine impunity that only justifies more war, more death, and more pain."

Join us at Monday April 21st at Wooden Shoe Books (704 South St.) for the next of our letter-writing events.

We'll be sending love to Peppy DiPippa―a Pittsburgh #Anarchist serving a 60-month sentence from a demonstration against transphobes Michael Knowles and Brad Palumbo at the University of Pittsburgh.

A Demonstrator’s Guide to Lockdowns and Blockades

crimethinc.com/lockdowns

A complete guide to assembling and employing lockboxes and other means of blockading.

There is a broad spectrum of tactics to choose from between simply holding up a protest sign and setting things on fire. If you are looking to intensify a pressure campaign, to block traffic, or simply to stand your ground more effectively under pressure, consider these means of holding space over a long period of time.

Trans day of vengeance W: quebecor trashed, cybertruck wrekt

In the spirit of Trans Day of Vengeance and April Fool’s Day, a cell of trans anarchists crashed the fuck out, targeting transphobe media and transphobe truck. Around 4:30 in the morning, angered by the police violence at the trans vengeance demo, armed and masked trannies took their vengeance to Quebecor, parent company of Journal de Montreal, TVA, and more. These media outlets have consistently spewed transphobic, bigoted and fascist poppycock into the news cycle. Around 5 windows of their square victoria headquarters were smashed to shit, light pink paint was sprayed on the windows and inside the entrance, and fireworks were tossed in.

As they were dispersing, the trannies stumbled across a beautiful parked cybertruck. Angered by elon musk’s transphobic and fascistic rampage, the little transes jumped on this golden opportunity. “Fuck Nazis” was tagged on the back in bright pink, red paint covered the sides, and the front windows and windshield were smashed to smithereens.

Happy april fools, elon, go suck a trans dick

And happy trans day of “visibility” to all. May our rage and revenge be visible to all those who wish us harm <3

Vandalism of NYPD Cars in Queens
Monday, March 31

a group of individuals vandalized three NYPD vehicles ... around 1 a.m. along Rockaway Boulevard in Ozone Park and involved damage such as broken windows and dented doors, inflicted, at least in part, by traffic cones. some ... mounted the cars and smashed the windows. attempts to quickly back away were made by the battered vehicles! :cop_carSugarbombing: most of the suspects wore masks, adding a layer of difficulty to their identification and capture. One of the accused was specifically charged with stealing a bag from the back of a police car, which contained paperwork. neversleep.noblogs.org/post/20

Those who seek to oppress us are not invincible.

Whatever power they acquire, whatever technology they employ, they make mistakes, they overlook vulnerabilities.

And they are motivated by bigotry and greed, which are not the most powerful forces in the human spirit.

"Outside of prisons and the movements that work to abolish them, the life and legacy of Martin Sostre is little known. A Black Puerto Rican anarchist born in East Harlem, Sostre became a politicized prisoner in the early 1960s who, as a renowned jailhouse lawyer, used the criminal legal system to benefit himself and those incarcerated alongside him. He gained international recognition in his ultimately successful freedom campaign and continued to fight government repression and the violence of structural racism for the rest of his life. Yet he died in relative obscurity at the age of 92."
