While you should stop using LastPass in favor of better password manager soon, I think it's important to keep a few things in perspective:
1. This isn't your fault. LastPass fucked up. It was reasonable to trust them, and they betrayed your trust. (Infosec folks: Do not shame people for not knowing this. If we knew and they didn't, that's on us. We should have communicated this better.)
Moving to a different password manager? Consider Apple’s iCloud Keychain, which is built into iOS and macOS. It has:
- Awesome AutoFill integration
- A “Security Recommendations” dashboard, including a massive (non-HIBP) database of leaked passwords
- Verification codes that AutoFill in websites and apps
- A full password manager: Settings > Passwords
It’s free, you can add it to your home screen[1], and it’s easy to import your data[2].

If it behooves you, instead of thinking any more about Twitter—hit us with some PDFs, some incomprehensible sociology, a fact about your town, some poetry no one cares about, political theory that will never land, obscure social history, climate links, math things, some tech so obscure 20 people use it. We want your inner noise. Just push the gas on your own ephemeralism and launch us into the future.
Terrifying… this was all of typo.social at some point in their career.

@letterformarchive Haunting shadow like out of an Expressionist murder film!
Thinking about migrating to another Mastodon instance? There are 2 options (neither of which moves posts): Redirecting disables your account and displays a notice linking the new one. Moving will migrate your followers in addition to that. https://docs.joinmastodon.org/user/moving/
Genuinely enjoying simply being on Type Mastodon right now.
It’s been a long time coming, but I truly think this platform is a fundamentally better place to hang out than any corp-owned website.
