@dave @algrid have you rolled out the change? I'm not seeing any errors recently in the logs and I just ran 1k requests with no issue!

@algrid @dave I wonder if we are seeing the same thing? The error we are seeing "incorrect header check" is related to the gzip compression. It just started happening last week and is intermittent -- but we make a lot of requests!

@bobjonkman @james @neil Buzzsprout uses Cloudflare to temporarily block suspicious traffic that (among other things) may inflate podcast statistics. Something like a server for syndication without a proper user agent would be ripe.

Thankfully Spotify
implemented conditional conditional get requests with etags. This resulted in an 87% reduction in bandwidth and processing for both buzzsprout
and spotify!

Podping would reduce it even more, but I'm happy to see any improvements in this area!

@tomrossi7 I really like both the podcaster interface for this and the way it’s presented on a podcast’s web page. Now to figure out how to replicate this on my Hugo website….

Some of the PSP certified hosts got together at Podcast Movement and discussed the next batch of tags that we could agree to implement. One of them is the Podroll. Today Buzzsprout rolled out support for podrolls! You can see an example here: https://buzzcast.buzzsprout.com/.
