I make videos about solving the problems caused technology and the value of open source software. No technical terms, no nonsense.

@TheEvilSkeleton Linux "users" or as I've recently taken to calling them, "Linux losers," are not part of the Linux community. It's sad that the real Linux community wastes time defending against misinformation and people who extrapolate drama from GitHub or GitLab when they could be out there making accessibility better for everyone using Linux.

So the Linux losers complaining that you aren't doing enough, actually wasted developer time, resources of the GNOME Foundation/KDE e.V./German government, and parrot incorrect assumptions spread by content creators and fake journalists. The only Linux community are the people who write code to give back or maintain contracts/foundational roles. Everyone else is a poser.

Giving Winward a face.

A picture of Winward: he has long blue hair, blue eyes, and is wearing a sweater-vest with a suit and tie.

@swick Know exactly which ones you're talking about. Don't be scared of them because they feed on fear and misinformation.

I don't know if it's just me because the information about it is scarce, but I've had problems with OBS virtual webcam working. Reading logs didn't yield much information.

Turns out it's related to a regression that was fixed in the beta version of OBS, but the current beta introduces another bug with QT frameworks where the desktop capture portal is transparent for some reason.

So I've been doubling up on both the stable OBS for recording and the beta OBS for virtual webcam purposes. github.com/obsproject/obs-stud

@alatiera YouTubers and bloggers are equally guilty in playing a big role in this. They give all sorts of publicity to projects that are not remotely worth anyone's time, especially if metux got run over by a bus, nobody will replace him. Too many of them have been brainwashed that Linux is about choice and don't want Wayland to be that one choice when the reality is too many things on Linux are just that one project in Nebraska holding the world up.

Last word of request: call out Liam Proven (the author) because he writes all kinds of Linux loser pandering articles. I wonder if he's influenced by them.

Linux losers are huffing copium thinking Microsoft open sourced WSL2 because of desktop Linux gaining ground. Microsoft doesn't give one about desktop Linux, nor do they care about Windows. Linux still cannot run MDM software and Windows will continue to be relevant as a result. IT pros have to be able to do post-incident analysis when management starts asking questions or manage permissions. Open sourcing WSL also means devs don't have to install another program and the feature can be managed.

Sorry for the lack of videos. When Google and Microsoft host 3 events back to back, I don't have a lot of capacity right now. Some shorts will be coming out of Microsoft Build and Google I/O over the next couple days.

Why did Microsoft and Google have to schedule Build and I/O back to back this year??

@rogueren @KyloNeko I've had my own thoughts about this for a long time, but I've kept putting the video off...

I suppose it depends which kind of Vtuber you are and more problematic if you are the one doing the creation. Unity on Linux is doo doo compared to the Windows version. But also, Bottles doesn't exactly have an easy solution for what is VSeeFace right now unless we all get some effort into making an installer.

OBS Flatpak can also use normal plugins, but don't know what plugins they are referring to.
