Due to YouTube's lack of support for adblockers, many individuals were seeking out alternatives. They were interested in creating accounts on PeerTube. However, unfortunately, the availability of PeerTube servers with open registrations was quite limited, which made a large-scale migration difficult.

Now, I must emphasize that I don't hold the PeerTube admins responsible for this situation, as video hosting undoubtedly comes with significant costs. As more users join a PeerTube server, the expenses involved can rise dramatically.

As a result, it becomes crucial for us to discuss how we can decrease the hosting expenses of PeerTube. This way, we can be better prepared for any potential future exodus from YouTube.
