But yeah, it's a pain when the (in comparison) apps keep you in the package. For me it's Acrobat, all PDF viewers just don't have the same precision on color separation (or support the rare case I need Pitstop Pro) or flexibility with interactive forms.

Also, the professional pre-press PDF replacements come with even worse subscription models.
