Huge thanks to everyone who organized, participated, and shared their knowledge, experiences, and challengesāwhether locally or online. You made it an unforgettable event. Weāre already thinking about doing it again next year!
Can a globally decentralized #DomainDrivenDesign day, connecting people in-person and online, actually work? We think it can! From DDD Australia to Taiwan, China, Iran, the Netherlands, Hamburg, Cologne/Bonn, and Latam, this year proved whatās possible. With most interactions happening online and an 18-hour open space, it felt like a true experiment in global collaboration.
To foster scientific interaction in software engineering among Iranians and Persian speakers, the DDD Association of Iran is proud to join the 2024 Global Day of DDD! Theyāre hosting an online event from 6 AM to 6:30 PM UTC. You can catch their talks streamed in our online open spaceāstop by and connect! #GDDDD
In addition to the online open space, local communities are hosting their own talks, both in-person and online. @ChrisSimonAu from DDD Australia in Sydney delivered an insightful session on Modular Monoliths & Microservices using Kruchten's 4+1 Viewsācomplete with online participants joining the discussion! #GDDDD
@roundcrisis opened the Global Virtual Domain-Driven Design event in Gather Town with an inspiring talk on The Making of a Decision. Weāll dive deeper into decision-making and system modeling during the open space sessions. Itās not too late to joinācome be part of the conversation! #GDDDD #DomainDrivenDesign
Join us at @virtualddd Global Day of Domain Driven Design from 7pm New Zealand time (6am UTC) on the 21st of November of 2024
I'll be kicking off the with the Keynote "The Making of a Decision". My talk will be followed by an open space, this is the first of three rounds that are happening globally. The event is hosted on gathertown

We have organised open spaces before and they were awesome! This is our first attempt at a global one. Local DDD user groups are also running events and since it's hard to sync in person with online these two are happening more or less concurrently.
Join us from 7pm New Zealand time (6pm UTC) on the 21st of November of 2024
We're excited to share that DDD Iran will be hosting its very own virtual DDD meetup on Global DDD Day, happening on the 21st! This is a fantastic chance to connect with DDD enthusiasts from all across Iran, coming together online to share and learn. Tickets are now live: https://buff.ly/40N8ssj. Don't miss out!
Join us for a relaxed, no-frills Dutch DDD meetup on Global Domain-Driven Design Day on the 21st of November! No slides, no fancy prepājust a circle of DDD enthusiasts sharing real-world stories and lessons.
Sign up and see you there: https://buff.ly/3YSJTrs
On Global DDD Day, our Aussie DDD community is coming together for a cracker of a meetup. š Weāve got Chris Simon diving into "Modular Monoliths and Microservices with Kruchten's 4+1 Views". Itās a ripper of a talk thatāll tackle how to think holistically about system design, blending DDD concepts with microservices and devops smarts.
Keen to join us? Itās all happening here: https://buff.ly/3Z6Makh
Did you know about the open space on Global Domain-Driven Design (DDD) Day, November 21st which starts at 6 UTC and ends around 22 UTC (or longer if participation continues)?
Global DDD Day, organized by Virtual Domain-Driven Design and local communities, promotes DDD principles worldwide. The event features a 16-hour virtual open space on Gather Town, as in previous open spaces. The space will reset roughly every 5 hours, making it accessible for participants across different time zones.
A ticket costs $5 to cover Gather Town expenses, and any profit will be donated to a good cause (still to be decided).
Expect ongoing discussions, interactive sessions, and a vibrant environment for learning and collaboration around DDD topics. Mark your calendar and join the experience! ā #DomainDrivenDesign
