Owner and Administrator of the instance of Mastodon, i run this instance with adamsorrel we share the moderation and i mainly do the server side stuff :)

This is the final reminder of the shutdown of Gainer.Cloud, Please Move or back up any data before 7pm UK time tomorrow.
⏳ Less than 24 hours to go. Please make sure you've backed up everything you need before then.
I'll be traveling tomorrow and won’t be available during the day, but I will check messages one last time before I shut the instance down for good.

After the constant updates about the shutdown, i wanted to post a slightly personal message, its been a pleasure running this instance and meeting all of you on here, i will miss gainer.cloud but its sadly time to move on.
I will not be joining another instance it just wouldnt seem right to me after running this one.

There have been some questions asked about gainer.cloud shutdown on 1st August 2025 and the main one is recommending a new server to join, I have not recommended any servers to migrate to once we close, I don't feel like it is really my place to suggest where people migrate to, all I can say is you should do your research and find a server that best fits with yourself.
Also I don't mind if other admins want to reply to this post if they would like to recommend their own servers to our members.
@bootblackcub I love immich, I have it installed and it's pretty much like Google photos, literally replaced Google photos and Amazon photos for me

Everything else will be deleted, the files stored on our storage server will be deleted and everything on the current hosting server will be deleted and the hosting will end a week later

@Clef thank you for your kind message ☺️ it's a shame we are closing down I agree and I had a good time on here, glad we were able to become your stepping stone into the fediverse and you find a good fediverse home to replace this one ☺️
Just a quick update on the closure of gainer.cloud our email service subscription ends on 29th July 2025 as its only 3 days before the actual shut down, a decision has been made to not renew the email service, so after 29th July we will be moved to their free service, dont know what that means for our site emails, but they may stop working after that day, we will not be renewing for 3 days before we shut down the instance.
