Smudge, unfairly denied the right to go outside in 2 degree (Fahrenheit, -16 Celsius) weather, looks reprovingly at those who would deny him his freedom

Smudge, UNHAPPY.

If you want to keep your Mastodon account extra secure, you might want to activate "Two Factor Authentication" also known as "2FA". When you have 2FA switched on, it means only you can access your account even if someone finds out or guesses your password.

There's a complete guide to using 2FA on Mastodon at:

➡️ fedi.tips/using-two-factor-aut

The guide also answers common questions about how 2FA works.

If you think big fines work on , think again.

Google, Apple, Meta, Amazon, and Microsoft generated enough revenue in the past 7 days to pay off their fines for 2023.

Taking advantage of your privacy is so lucrative, that these fines are nothing more than the cost of doing business.

We must learn from history so that we do not repeat it.

@ Richard Stengel:

_ @stengel The scariest part of this use of racist Nazi rhetoric is not the language or ideology (as hideous as that is)—it is that Hitler came to power legally. The Nazis were the highest polling party in Germany and Hitler was appointed Chancellor through a constitutional process. That was the last election in Nazi Germany. Democracies die not at the end of a gun barrel but at the ballot box, where people vote for an authoritarian leader who then does away with elections. We can't let that happen here.

People insist that Santa is white. Some say, he is Black. Isn’t this all just wrong? I once saw Santa in the internment camps, and he was most definitely Asian.

Every time you share this Black Santa, another January 6th MAGA racist gets arrested!

I agree with Joyce, whom I have interviewed for The Big Picture. We need leaders who are unafraid to speak up and challenge authority while they are still in office.

Screenshot of a tweet from Joyce Alene that says:

The problem with Barr saying this now is that he had no problems with Trump's racist comments when he was his attorney general & had the ability to do something about it, even if just to resign in protest & support for the rule of law. Talk now is cheap.

It includes a retweet from Morning Joe that says:

I'm offended by it: Bill Barr calls out 'racist overtones' of Trump's rhetoric on msnbc.com
