Starting studying for my general class this morning. I'm working on it using fasttrackham.com. I'm studying by chapters at the moment, small portions at a time. The audio version is pretty helpful. I just finished chapter 3 which has a little mixture of a refresher from tech and throws in a little new for general. I believe chapter 4 is going to end up being more new than refresher. But so far things are going well.

Good day once again. Since it has been a while here's a brief intro about myself. I am totally blind and live in Michigan. I've had my US tech license since April/May of 2021. It's been even longer since I got my Canadian basic license, lol. When I was in Canada I always loved being net control and would love to be able to do that sometime in the US. My interests is also to try for general class for my US license and I would love to be able to learn about skywarn if possible for a blind person

Good day everyone. A quick reintroduction since I haven't posted here in a while. My name is May, I'm totally blind and I live in Michigan. I've had my US #TechLicense for a couple of years now and I am now studying to upgrade to #GeneralLicense and it is making my head spin. Things got pretty nuts for me with work and kids so I haven't had the chance to really get into everything, but I'm hoping that can change now.

Ugh, ok, now I feel stupid, smiles. Shows what a old newbie I am, hahaha. I don't have the clear node, but the Open spot 3. Is this something still good to use for connecting or should I try and get a clear node? Also, if open spot 3 is stil ok, is there an app for it like the clear node?

Oh no, I forgot I did buy a clear node when I bought my radio a couple of years ago, but with everything going on I never set it up and now I no longer have the key I need since my emails got eaten by the internet Gods. Does anyone have suggestions on how I may hopefully can proceed?

@N2DYI @khronos @w8emv Ok, I think I'm looking at the right thing. So clear node around 355. That's not as bad as I was thinking it may be. Now, this only works with one callsign per device? If so, then I may have to wait since there's 2 of us here, lol.

@N2DYI @khronos @w8emv First part of that would be, what would be the best thing to buy and is easy or accessible? The other is, how much would it cost me? Right now money is tight with the holidays coming. I have repeater Phone and echolink, but my guess is the sound quality wouldn't be that great?

@w8emv @N2DYI Oh, the other digital I have is repeater phone. Not sure how good it is since I just learned about it. so I have that and echolink. If you know of any others please pass it along smiles. I'm going to look into MSU again and see if they are still around.

@easternpa @tsiolkovsky Mine are basic for the Canadian license and I think it's tech for my US one.
