105 years since the Armistice. Something I wrote on its centennial. I think we lost something when we transitioned from Armistice Day to Veterans Day.
We shifted our focus from the end of the fight to those who fought. Warriors are very often noble. War very often is not. When we celebrate the nobility of the warrior we run the risk of forgetting the ignobility of war.
