Working on making #Drupal better & faster in @acquia's Drupal Acceleration Team. 😊 Last ~4 years: CKEditor 5 upgrade path, config validation, Recipes and now https://www.drupal.org/project/experience_builder
(A decade now => brownfield development is my expertise 🫣)
Interests beyond Drupal: being a dad, energy efficiency, software empathy, cycling & running, LEGO, coffee, beer & wine, great bread 🤤
Hey vegetarians! Question for you... before you became veggie, did you:
Heavy metal fans have been told to take off smartwatches at UK festival.
That’s because, as well as black T-shirts, a lot of the metal heads at the festival wear smartwatches and other devices that automatically make 999 calls to police because “the tech assumed that people in moshpits had been in a collision,” according to Leicestershire police.

These are some vector drawings that I made for the Peertube crowdfunding campaign. The campaign ends in a few days, so if you'd like to help them improve their software, now's the time! https://support.joinpeertube.org/en/

This is the 100 year anniversary of humans having an idea of what the heck the sun and all the stars actually are. If you had asked a leading astronomer in 1925 what the sun was, they would say that it's basically the same as Earth, but very hot.
In Cecilia Payne's doctoral thesis she was the first to say, from spectral data, that the sun was overwhelmingly made of hydrogen and helium.
It was later described as "the most brilliant PhD thesis ever written in astronomy".

Werkt even snel/goed/digitaal als CM.
@lieven OTOH more open than Unifi: https://github.com/firewalla/firewalla
@stroobl In ‘t midden van de stad is er geen groen 🥳🤐🫣
First .webp, now .avif! 🎉🖼️ It seems that image formats are having a bit of a moment.
Support for .avif has been added to #drupal core: https://www.drupal.org/node/3511540 🔗
.avif is an open-source image format that often has better compression than .webp. 🚀
I enjoyed Jeet Mehta's take on writing even though few people will read what you write.
https://www.jeetmehta.com/posts/thrive-in-obscurity
In particular, his take on using yourself as proxy for the audience resonates with me.
> Your audience is just you, pushed outwards.
I write things that interest me. Hopefully, it will be interesting to other people too.
Internet Archive is looking for engineering managers with a rare set of experiences, and we could use your help.
Do you know someone with extensive experience using PHP as a systems language? Someone who has gardened a petabyte-scale system under high load? Is this person a player/coach engineering manager who enjoys helping other people succeed?
If you do know someone like this, or someone close, I would love to talk to them.

@lieven @peturdainn What’s your take on https://firewalla.com gear?
(Been contemplating both Unifi and Firewalla.)
From a presentation I'm doing tomorrow, a great insight from Edsger Dijkstra, "Simplicity is a great virtue but it requires hard work to achieve it and education to appreciate it. And to make matters worse: complexity sells better." - https://www.cs.utexas.edu/~EWD/transcriptions/EWD08xx/EWD896.html
Nu zondag organiseert @flordi haar zesde FOSS overstap-event.
