For TechCrunch, I wrote about Thinkst Canary, a bootstrapped maker of honeypots (for catching hackers), which this month marks its 10th anniversary. The company now brings in $20 million in ARR without VC funding or an outbound sales team.
Refreshing at a time when cyber is dominated by VC dollars.
"Amodei told Axios he envisions a future where "Cancer is cured, the economy grows at 10% a year, the budget is balanced — and 20% of people don't have jobs" as one possible scenario that could be unlocked by the "unimaginable" possibilities of AI."
Tell me you don't understand how LLMs work without telling me you don't understand how LLMs work.

my kid is crushing brilliant.org. They did a great job gamifying it. He cares a lot about being the top of the leaderboard for his rank.
ps. i am _so_ glad i chose ECS for this system, makes SOO many systems easier to model in your brain.
Ah I can make a AddInventoryMonitor tag which the ECS systems can monitor for timeouts. So everytime an AddInventory Rpc request is made, the ecs system will add it to the list of rpc requests to monitor and time them out as necessary.
actually i guess i can just remove the RequestRpcAddInventory tag after I process it, and come up with an alternative way of checking for timeouts for that particular case.
Other RPC tags i just have a RequestedTime counter that I increment and then fail after it exceeds the timeout threshold. This also blocks any other attempts at sending the Rpc (such as RequestRespawn, or RequestGetInventory etc)
dang, downside of using component tags as an RPC signaling system is if you need to stack/queue up the same RPC call (e.g. add item to inventory from container)...
Hrm.
