Filled my whitetail tag today!! It went about as perfect as you could ask for, and it’s only my second deer! We also saw moose and mulies while we were out. Massive props to my fiancé who has taught me everything I know, it’s great to be able to do this together

Cross post from Twitter:

In the House of Commons
today, MP Richard Cannings
called this week's Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Economic Development
announcement 'the same old investment with a shiny new bow'.

ISED Minister François-Phillippe Champagne agreed 'we need to do MORE' for graduate and postdoctoral researchers.

But when will that translate into NEW $? #SupportOurScience

i used to convince myself that as grad workers we make enough $ to survive... but then i had to move/fix my car/go to the doctor/buy a plane ticket home

i am constantly reminded that academia is designed to push out people that don't come from affluent backgrounds

I'll work on bringing my personality to this eventually...but while I have your attention...

Calling all Canadians! Let your MP know that #Canada needs significant investment in graduate student and postdoctoral researchers in Budget 2023. Many are living below the poverty line, and we're losing out on a lot of great talent.

Send a letter using our tool or, better yet - request a meeting! If you do, reach out so we can support you to #SupportOurScience
