Related to this - occasionally my brain asks me "why did anyone need Shift Lock, as opposed to Caps Lock?" as I'm not even sure why we needed it on typewriters.

@EvanderLFragoso the current vignette I've been "writing" for about six months has kept me honest to the theme by doing my best not to just let unrelated stuff spill out all over the page, as is my wont.

@semiotic_pirate Which also harkens back to "uppercase" and "lowercase" - in typesetting the printer (person, not infernal machine) would carry the former "type" in the upper portion of their case, and the latter on the lower portion.

@nebulos I'd definitely cringe if I read someone confusing inflation (or profiteering) with enshittification. I feel that would undoubtedly be metaenshittification!

@nebulos I'm yet to see much erosion of "enshittifaction", just...lots of it since it's happening all over the damn place.
