I try to tune in to Sebastian Hampf’s The Good Nightz radio show on byte.fm every Friday (10pm CET) and even have a calendar alert set so I don’t miss it. So when he played some tracks from my To the Nines album, I was of course over the moon with excitement. And now, today, I find out that he included my album in his Albums of the Year 2025 list and I’m absolutely buzzing!

@spipau @tbernard Thus, rather than forking Android, we'd be better advised not to build on top of AOSP and instead use the free software platforms we already have as a basis, making use of the huge amount of developer effort and research put into free software Linux distributions and apps running on them, and making that available to smartphones.
@postmarketOS is laying the groundwork here and initiatives like @modal are pushing to build the remaining pieces to have something that can compete.

No specific book is mentioned, but I wonder if one in particular found a wider audience. There's a 2015 book by Nicholas Stargardt (Мобилизованная нация) and a 2019 one by Harald Jähner (Волчье время). One from this year by Nikolay Vlasov (Немцы после войны) wasn't available in 2022.

After investigating how #RCS actually works on iOS, I stand by this conclusion.

Turns out, it [Jibe] uses App Attest to prove that you're on a legitimate iOS device, just like how the Android implementation requires Play Integrity.
