New playlist. This one is based around English folk/prog music. I think this a good playlist for a cold winter. Enjoy.

5 days until new #DoctorWho !!
Oh, and Christmas.
My favorite thing about today's Doctor Who is the Toymaster having a puppet show about how often the show refuses to give definitive endings to its characters in the same episode as the biggest "have your cake and eat it too" moment in DW history. I'm on the fence about whether it's total self-awareness or no self-awareness. Surely RTD is poking fun, right? Anyway, the Ncuti era has begun! #doctorwho
Gilbert Shelton 1970
Tonight's episode was top notch Doctor Who with some dodgy sfx. That's part of the fun! Do your part and suspend some disbelief.
My favorite part was Donna's answer(s) to the question, "Why is Mrs. Bean funny?"
I always wonder about people who criticize bad special effects. What do you care? Either the story works or it doesn't. The verisimilitude of the effects has nothing to do with that. I actually think classic Doctor Who's primitive effects are part of the reason the show survived so long. You had to meet the production half way back then. If you couldn't make the leap from pepper pot to Dalek, then the show wasn't for you.
And, yes I'm aware of their history with "farewell" tours. I actually do think this is the end of touring for the band. I think it's probably the end of the make-up and the costumes. But I wouldn't be surprised if they play a few one-offs here and there, like the KISS Kruise.
Tonight is the final show of the final KISS tour. I discovered the band in 1988 when I was 12. It was love at first sight. Thirty-five years later, I still love this band, warts and all. I'm happy to have seen them live 4 times starting in 1990. Here's a playlist of some less-known bangers.

Regarding the mass murder and torture that Augusto Pinochet committed after Kissinger and Nixon helped overthrow the democratically-elected Allende socialist government in Chile, Kissinger said the following about Pinochet's horrific crimes:
“I read the briefing paper for this meeting and it was nothing but Human Rights, The State Department is made up of people who have a vocation for the ministry. Because there are not enough churches for them, they went into the Department of State.”
Pure sociopath
My favorite part of the episode is, of course, David Tennant. The man was born to play the role and will seemingly never be completely done with it.
Also, RTD really loves putting characters on opposite sides of a barrier. #doctorwho
New Doctor Who! Old Doctor Who! Only Russell T. Davies would have the balls to take the Disney and BBC's big new Doctor Who launch and use it for a follow-up to a 13 year old story that even die-hard Who fans don't remember the exact details of. But its new old Doctor Who! It's exciting! #doctorwho
@rossgrady The first Ms Marvel series, by G. Willow Wilson and Adrian Alphona, is my go-to recommendation for kids interested in comics. It's so good. Marvel is always trying to recreate the experience of reading Spider-Man in 1965. That Ms Marvel series is as close as they ever got.
@rossgrady I liked it. I'd say its closest in tone to the Ms Marvel TV series. It's fun and funny and definitely aimed at a family crowd. It's a superhero team-up movie so you could probably guess the main plot beats without having to actually watch it, but its a good time anyway.

I know from working with farmers in NC that most of them want to do it right.
But corruption is so normalized that people who try to do it right struggle. People see that & avoid investing in agriculture here.
That's a leadership failure. We deserve better.
That's why I'm running for North Carolina's Commissioner of Agriculture.
We have one of the largest rural populations in the US, and our leadership has left us behind. It doesn't have to be this way!
I'm running for a strong, healthy, working countryside in North Carolina. I'd be so honored if you'd join me.
It's funny: Both Bandcamp and Patreon had the easiest and most straightforwardly long-term profitable business models imaginable: Sit between indie creatives and their fans, provide some basic services for mediation (comment sections, media posts, semi-global payment) and take enough of a cut of any payments to cover the costs and then some.
But because that business model wouldn't scale forever, they are instead being gutted, because ever _increasing_ growth is the only model capital accepts
