@rejinl @jmac I can’t speak to Facebook because I never joined Facebook at all.

When I made this decision (in the original 2008-ish surge), it was a curmudgeonly stance. I didn’t really have a justification other than “It’s popular, I must not like it.” Turned out okay, but I take no pride in that.

@jmac I wound up with a rather different arrangement. Mastodon is on my main Mac and my mobile device. I hit it a lot — maybe too much — but I follow a limited list of people and retweets are mostly off, so the feed rate is fairly slow.

Bluesky is also on my main Mac, because it’s just not addictive. I crosspost there for business/visibility reasons.

Seriously the best part of the post-conference task list is when I delete Discord from all mobile devices and get it back where it belongs: one laptop which is not my regular work machine.

People on Discord are great, communities on Discord are great, Discord as a whole is unhealthy to have close at hand. For me.

@jmac Specifically that the web site links to travelwhiletrans dot com. I intend to pull that link down before we archive the 2025 site. For 2026 we’ll have a nonspecific “please contact us if you have any travel questions.”

Now at the Rodin museum, playing the game “did this couple just get it on or are they about to get it on”

Also, trying to get my hand into every hand pose I see to understand what the figure is feeling. I am such an earth logic sometimes.

Today is the last day of #NarraScope 2025, so after the conference you can listen to Jason Compton and me interviewing @zarfeblong about some of his earliest works of #InteractiveFiction.

@dominic Ooh, good pick!

I was thinking of the Knights of Columbus building, which is visible from the train as it comes in.

I always forget about that one weird building in downtown New Haven.

Tron: Catalyst is out! I will always play a new Tron game. Okay, not *always*, but I liked Bithell’s last Tron game. And I see that previous NarraScope keynoter Nat Clayton is in the design credits…

…now waiting for dan le sac’s soundtrack to appear for purchase…

I think I am all packed for NarraScope. (And got a negative COVID test result, you know, just being careful…)

Looking forward to a conference that I’m not in charge of and can just hang with people.
