If you use MacOS, I strongly suggest enabling always visible scrollbars. (In System Settings->Appearance) The usability is well worth the small amount of extra screen real estate used.
@grumpygamer It's ok, it can make more. For now.
@codinghorror Writing article titles that prioritize clickthrough over providing information?
(I am pretending I didn't see that this a continuation of the old Mars simulation thread.)
@siracusa @codinghorror So who has the blog post on ennui driven development?

Here's something you don't see every day…a visionOS app that made it to version 2.0!
I released the first version of GlanceBar over a year ago, and I never really stopped updating it. For version 2.0, I added curved window mode, a photo module and a music player module. It finally now has all the features I'd originally planned for!
(And it feels so good to meet my goal of getting this done before @DeepDishSwift)
@grumpygamer “I might have to go track them down on the Wayback Machine and pretend it all never happened and I have perfect back-up and archiving practices.” As long as they aren't 'found' on April 1st…

The dementia treatment for my age group will be putting us in front of a browser pointed at Slashdot.
The same row of stories will be recycled every 24 hours, we will keep reposting the same comments. Those with slightly better memory will notice that some stories have been posted before, they will complain about it, and everything will be as it was.
Cc @CmdrTaco , just because I can.
"Let's Encrypt is a golden example of how creating inalienable good is possible with the right approach and the right values. And while I'm excited about the work Let's Encrypt has done, I am eager to see their work continue to keep up with the growing Web; to sustain encryption for everybody at Internet scale. To do so is going to take more than me—it's going to take a community of people committed to this work. I am confident Let's Encrypt is a project that deserves all of our support, in ways both large and small." https://letsencrypt.org/2025/03/18/community-of-funders/
@nebyoolae How many cycles were there for this post?

@codinghorror I have two of them. One I got shortly after your original post and another I got a couple years ago. Several caps in my original one are nearly fully translucent from use. Sad it won't be an option when it's time to get something new.

@codinghorror Demand that they stop giving in to the demands of other donors who are trying to manipulate them and just do what they think is right? (Though I imagine they could also just feel there are many things to do, they can't do all of them, so they should defer to their donors for suggestions on where to focus their efforts.)
I think the only way to make searching the history in Apple's Messages app more confusing would be to get Apple Intelligence to summarize it.
Anyone know if there is a reputable browser plug-in that removes all product listings that aren't sold by either Amazon or the actual manufacturer of a product from Amazon search results? The little checkbox doesn't always show up on the left, and even when it does it seems unreliable.
I was going to toot almost this exact thing again, but it would appear that I have a better memory than my browser.
