The book fair is over. What remains? A scratchy throat, many wonderful impressions, the joy of meeting old and new colleagues, good thoughts from the conversation with Anna Unterstab and Sina Gösele (thank you Lenja Hansen!), a long book wish list and the back of our Verlage gegen Rechts (Publishers against the Right) program folder. Books that know where they stand!

With the motif and a campaign for the book trade, our commitment to publishers against the right began in December 2023 (thanks Harriet Dohmeyer for the impetus and Lucy Gengler for helping to shape it!) It's incredible what has happened since then and how the initiative has grown – not least because of the Posters against the Right campaign (organized by Charlotte Riemann, Zina Rupp and Lenja Hansen!). It's great to be part of the movement! For solidarity and diversity in the literary world.

The poster claim was created by Katharina Mevissen and this year Hannah Wölfling helped with the design of the program flyer. The poster is also available for all those who weren't there for a donation on the Publishers Against the Right website.

Axi drew some tiny Zweifel posters on neon colored paper. Who wants one? I’ll send a few tiny letters → dm!

Anyone who knows me knows that I came to graphics through music. At the beginning of the 2000s, our singer Fabi and I spent more time on our websites than on rehearsals (see last two photos) and so our band career ended in 2005 as the support band for Silbermond. Fabi studied computer science and I studied graphic design. My self-employment started with many, many music projects together with Urs and Mit freundlicher Gestaltung. Over the last few years this has become less and less, so it's all the nicer that I met Malte and Christoph last year and we developed the artwork for the first BEACHPEOPLE album “has-been” together. I'm very happy with how it turned out. Listen to the record, there's a lot of love in it! And more important than ever: support small artists and bands. Buy their music, merch and go to concerts.

Die Wahl ist noch nicht gelaufen aber was sich abzeichnet: Es wird unbequem werden! Für viele sehr und für manche weniger. Wenn du dich auch zu den manchen zählst, ist jetzt der Zeitpunkt, zu überlegen, was wir nach der Wahl tun können, um (trotz allem!) zu einem positiven Wandel beizutragen. Ein paar Stunden unserer Screentime gegen ein Ehrenamt eintauschen zum Beispiel. In einer Partei aktiv werden. Mit Freund*innen und Familie über Politik sprechen. Räume für Begegnungen schaffen. Und Netzwerke unabhängig von Konzernen aufbauen. Ja, das alles ist unbequemer, als hier immer weiter zu scrollen – aber weitaus weniger als die Zukunft für viele, wenn wir nichts tun.
