<p>To celebrate Sir David Attenborough's 100th birthday on 8 May, the BBC has commissioned a slate of new series and archival material to showcase the finest programmes from his seven-decade career.</p><p>The new programmes to air in a week-long celebration of his work and legacy include Making Life on Earth: Attenborough's Greatest Adventure, Secret Garden and David Attenborough's 100 Years on Planet Earth.</p><p>Special episodes from some of Attenborough's most beloved series will be taken from the archive and will air on BBC One in the week leading up to his birthday, as well as a dedicated BBC iPlayer collection showcasing more than 40 series presented by Attenborough.</p><p><strong>Making Life on Earth: Attenborough’s Greatest Adventure </strong>features new interviews with Attenborough and the original production team as they reflect on the making of the groundbreaking series Life on Earth.</p><p>The synopsis reads: "With fascinating insights, they reveal the highs and lows of filming the series during a truly exciting moment in television history, when global jet travel and colour filming were still in their infancy. Along the way, the crew encountered multiple challenges, including a coup in the Comoros, being shot at in Rwanda and threats from Saddam Hussein’s army in Iraq.</p>

And I thought, 'Oh God'," the star joked to <a href="http://radiotimes.com">Radio Times</a>.</p><p>"My husband said, 'What have you done?', and I thought I hadn't paid something. I opened it, and I was really delighted to find out that I've got an MBE from The King in his Birthday Honour's list."</p>

<p>A first-look clip has been revealed for new eight-part BBC drama series Mint, which comes from <a href="https://www.radiotimes.com/movies/harris-dickinson-scrapper-british-cinema-exclusive-newsupdate/">Scrapper</a> writer/director Charlotte Regan.</p><p>The clip introduces us to the characters played by <a href="https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/mayor-of-kingstown-season-5-release-date/">Mayor of Kingstown</a>'s Emma Laird and Ben Coyle-Larner, better known as musician Loyle Carner.</p><p>They are seen on opposite platforms at a train station, looking at one another. As Laird's character Shannon walks along the platform, Coyle-Larner's Arran does the same. <p>The permanent exit of Jay Brown from <a href="http://radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/eastenders">EastEnders</a> has been addressed on-screen, five months after actor Jamie Borthwick was confirmed not to be returning.</p><p>A short statement provided to <a href="http://radiotimes.com">Radio Times</a> by a BBC Studios spokesperson at the time read: "We can confirm that Jamie Borthwick will <a href="https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/eastenders/eastenders-jamie-borthwick-confirmed-exited-jay-brown-role-newsupdate/">not be returning</a> to EastEnders. <p>This week's third episode of <a href="https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/death-in-paradise-season-15-release-date/">Death in Paradise</a> season 15 is moving from its usual slot on BBC One, due to the <a href="https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/sport/football/fa-cup-2025-26-tv-schedule/">FA Cup match</a> between Hull City and Chelsea airing live this Friday (13th February).</p><p>Instead of airing at 9pm that night, the episode has instead moved its BBC One transmission to Monday 16th February, as was confirmed in a post on the show's official <a href="https://www.instagram.com/deathinparadiseofficial/p/DUggTlzkn2F/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Instagram</a> account. However, that isn't the only way to watch it.</p><p>In fact, fans will actually be able to watch the new episode 15 minutes earlier than usual, as it will be added to BBC iPlayer at 8:45pm on Friday night.</p><p>Next Friday's (20th February) fourth episode will be unaffected and will air in the 9pm Friday slot on BBC One as usual.</p>
