K3 is starting to do the movements you can do while singing certain songs at the appropriate times and it's so cute! Toddlers clapping their hands is just adorable.

Okay, I'm writing a long thread about K3's birth.
It went well, but has medical issues mentioned and ends with a Caesarian section, so don't read if you can't deal with that.
I'm not graphic in my descriptions, but of course there's pain mentioned.
K1: tries cross-stitching
K2: is read their favorite "Conni" story for the third time
K3: hey look, I can walk one step! Then I fall down, but I get up again!
Dinner. K3 makes loud noises.
K1: K3, can you tone it down?!
K3: *grins* *shakes head* *resumes making noises*
Sneaky K3 has a tooth! And no one noticed before it was out.
(Lest you think this is a sad case of overlooked third child: the others were similarly sneaky)
When K2 crawled: "oh yes! I'm mobile! I can go anywhere I want to! Yay! ๐คฉ"
When K3 crawls: "you have failed to provide me with something I can pull myself up on and walk. Therefore, I have to use this far inferior mode of locomotion. ๐ง"
K3: can't really crawl yet
Also K3: pulls themself up to a standing position, walks sideways along the sofa for two steps
Development of gross motor skills: you do you.
I had forgotten how exhausting having a baby who doesn't drink much water yet is in this hot weather ๐
*breastfeeds at least once per hour*
*drinks a lot of water verself*
Sport with baby today.
Weather: ๐
K3: ๐
Exercises: ๐
Other parents: ๐
(a perfect mixture of "store-bought baby food is bad, fingerfood is dangerous", "my boyfriend would never talk to his friends about kids, that's a female thing" and "homeopathy was so great for my allergies")
Yesterday at the playground I put K3 on the baby swing for the first time. Having older siblings, they didn't get to experience some gentle motion, but were pushed higher and higher.
And they absolutely LOVED it. The higher they went, the more they squeaked with joy.
K3 text adventure:
> Look at baby
The baby is on their blanket, on their back
> Look at squirrel outside
Squirrel is cute!
> Look at baby
The baby is 20 cm away from their blanket, on their belly
Sneaky K3 apparently can move, at least backwards, and no one has see them do it ๐คจ
Evening alone with three kids, that was a first. But all are asleep now ๐ฅฐ
It's so cool that five-month-olds will laugh and smile if you smile at them even if you're wearing a mask.
(Check-up and vaccinations for K3: โ
They were very brave, as is expected if you've got two older siblings telling you: "it hurts a bit, but then you don't get sick!")
Yesterday, while eating dinner:
K1: *eats cucumber*
K3: ๐
K1: can I give K3 a bit?
Partner: sure, they can't really eat it, but maybe they're curious
K3: ๐คฉ๐ *sucks on cucumber* ๐ ๐ฉ
Ah, it's #SiblingLedWeaning again, and it's going as these things go ๐
K1: *cuddles K3* cuddling K3 is like charging for me. They're my charging station. Too bad I don't have them in kindergarten
Me: it's great that you feel so clearly what recharges you! Maybe there are other things?
K1: cuddling you... and crafting or building stuff
Cute sibling moment of the day:
Both K2 and K3 are sleeping in my bed. K3 wakes up first, looks around, starts to make happy squeaking noises. K2 wakes, bends over looking at K3, and BEAMS - as does K3.
๐
K3 discovered "pull on blanket, get things to move towards me". Very handy if forward movement is still difficult!
