Scottsdale, Arizona’s Michael Wiseman arrested in Kilstett, Bas-Rhin
Michael Robert Danilewski Wiseman, 50, of Scottsdale, Maricopa County, Arizona, United States has been arrested. He was second on Scottsdale Police Department‘s most wanted list for almost two decades.

In February 2008, Wiseman was first arrested on multiple counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. While under court-ordered monitoring, he cut off his ankle bracelet in November 2008 and fled the U.S. so the field office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Phoenix, Maricopa County obtained an unlawful flight to avoid prosecution (UFAP) warrant.
In 2009, Wiseman applied for a pilot’s license in Spain using his real name. His potential employer found that he was on Scottsdale’s most wanted list and called Spain authorities, which let to the fugitive’s arrest.
In 2012, Wiseman was extradited to Arizona where he pleaded guilty to all the charges filed against him and was sentenced for the crimes. While he was out on probation in 2013, he fled again and hid in Vietnam.
Using the name Robert Danilewski, Wiseman obtained a legitimate Polish passport and relocated to Poland before settling in France. In 2022, Scottsdale Police Department detectives learned that he had adopted two children in Vietnam.
In coordination with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, the criminal intelligence unit (CIU) of the Scottsdale Police Department submitted a provisional arrest warrant to the U.S. Department of Justice‘s Office of International Affairs in September 2025. The warrant was approved and forwarded to French authorities, who confirmed Wiseman’s residence in Kilstett, Brumath, Haguenau-Wissembourg, Bas-Rhin, Grand Est, France.
In October 2025, detectives gained access to Wiseman’s personal account. They found new child sexual abuse material (CSAM), which included videos of him sexually abusing one of his adopted children.
On November 1, 2025, Wiseman was arrested in Kilstett, a commune located between Strasbourg, Bas-Rhin and Frankfurt, Germany. French authorities charged him with rape and sexual assault of a minor under 15 years old.
Wiseman will be held in France for his crimes in the country. He will face prosecution there before his extradition to the U.S.
