It was a long, perilous journey, but with endurance and determination, we made it through. (And with the various ships stolen from our enemies - those also helped. 😂)
More than 25 years after its release, the original #Homeworld is still absolutely gorgeous - sure, it may not play as smoothly as more modern #RTS games and some parts can be a bit tedious, but this old gem still has lost none of its charm.

Es war eine lange Reise voller Gefahren, aber mit Willen und Durchhaltevermögen haben wir sie bestanden. (Und mit den vielen gestohlenen Schiffen unserer Feinde - die waren sehr hilfreich. 😂)
Mehr als 25 Jahre nach Release ist das erste Homeworld immer noch wunderschön - sicher, es spielt sich vielleicht nicht so flüssig wie modernere RTS-Spiele und manche Stellen können etwas langatmig sein, aber diese alte Perle hat nichts von ihrem Charme eingebüßt.

It may seem tempting to snatch an extra one from the enemy, but if your ships dock with it, they'll just disappear into the carrier - seriously, it just swallows them right up.
Well, bugs sure are one way to put a stop to exploits... 😂
🇩🇪 Lektion gelernt: Hab niemals mehr als vier Trägerschiffe in #Homeworld 1.
Es mag verlockend sein, sich ein viertes vom Gegner zu mopsen, aber wenn die eigenen Schiffe da andocken, verschwinden sie einfach in dem Trägerschiff - wirklich, wie vom Erdboden verschluckt.
Tja, Bugs sind auf jeden Fall eine Methode, Exploits zu unterbinden... 😂

As a 25+ year fan of the game, #Homeworld (that I beta tested, back when they had to mail you a CD), I am so surprised and excited to see that Era One, the true spiritual successor to Homeworld, has reread it's first demo today. When I used to play #HOMEWORLD competitively, I used to care about every little combat ship.
It would be very satisfying to bring home 3 severely damaged fighters/bombers from a wing of 20...
Rather than let them perish in a futile battle.
I think it's why the "twist" in "Enders Game" resonated so deeply with me.

Like "Fuel depleted... uh... a little help here would be great" while drifting around in space, nervously drumming their fingers on the control panel, hoping that command didn't forget about them... 😅 (Don't worry, I picked them back up - I'd never leave any of my people behind if I can help it.)

I finally got to spend the time and beat Homeworld 3. I waited years for it and finally got it, only to be too busy to enjoy it.
But enjoy it I did. Good storyline. Good graphics. And thank you, devs, for time dilation. :)

Who would've thought that wanting to play #Homeworld1 Classic would be such a literal odyssey in space... (Courtesy of Gearbox who, if they already have to remaster HW1 in a wholly different engine, can't even sell a playable version of the classic game... 🙄)
Anyway, after much trial and error and some help from my friend @sebulon (shout-out to you 😉), I can FINALLY enjoy my beautiful retro starships in their full glory.
And thus, the REAL journey to the homeworld begins... 😌
