Join together 'neath the mistletoe,
By the holy oak whereon it grows
Seven druids dance in seven time
Sing the song the bells call, loudly chiming
Ring out these bells
Ring out, ring solstice bells
Ring solstice bells

@jesscanady I haven't had this happen in the ~20 years I’ve had iPhones, but Apple has instructions on how to reset the phone here:
@totalclaireity My theory, which is mine, goes something like this:
Some folks like their Science Fiction to be crisp and intellectual. The occasional alien in ok, but shows like B5 and Farscape where every other character is in full makeup push them over the edge.
This is a superficial and unfair discrimination, and at some level they know it. When they get reminded that these shows are really good, they are also reminded of their own unfairness, and that's irritating.
They'll come around.
@phranck 99% percent of the time I use Apple Music. With recent Apple hardware that supports high-impedance headphones I really don't need anything else most of the time.
For ultra-critical listening with external DACs I use Audirvana which has a variety of licensing options.
@Black_Flag @openrightsgroup Yes, I think there is some political agenda.
I was referring to a deep cultural level of prudery. In this case, the fact that they care about skin at all.
@ronaldsvilcins I use the Apple Mail app. It's had its ups and downs over the past couple of decades but it’s still better than anything else I've tried.
@phaysis Working for decades in an open office did it for me. Can't listen to podcasts - after 30 seconds they just disappear.
@crazyeddie @openrightsgroup There's a lot more to be said on this topic than would fit in a single post, but simply put I think religion gets both some of the credit and a whole lot of the blame for where we are today.
@openrightsgroup The English-speaking West are so prudish they can not even conceive how out of step they are from the rest of the world.
@SteveDuncan First, build a time machine. Then go back about 40 years and buy a Kenmore.
@MonaApp I can’t wait and I hope you ignore the whining from the pathologically entitled.
@phaedral @rayckeith We can always have hope. Both “The Puppet Masters” (1994) and “The Door into Summer” (2021) are reasonably faithful.
@jdoe Unless they change themselves (computers, etc.) all my clocks are Standard time except for the one by the door which is to remind me what the rest of the country is doing.
@WillderBeast For more Jared Harris science fiction, see season one of “The Expanse” (2015).
